When police deputies responded to reports of a Florida shooting, they came to find out that a pistol packing pastor named Terry Howell had a gun fight within a church.

In a related report by the Inquisitr , when a church used an AR-15 giveaway as a way “to get more people to follow Jesus,” some Christians thought the church was being “careless and reckless.” Another pistol packing pastor named Benny Holmes would probably get along with Mr. Howell since he was also caught on video chasing down a robbery suspect with his own gun.

Pastor Howell works at the Living Water Fellowship in Osceola County and witnesses say the Florida shooting incident took place after a church meeting was held to terminate the employment of Benjamin Parangan, a maintenance worker at the church. The janitor responded to the bad news by pulling out a handgun and firing multiple shots at Howell. But the pastor was no gun control believer and he pulled out his own weapon in self defense. In the end, the church gun fight ended with Howell still standing and Parangan being taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Living Water Fellowship sent this statement in response to the church shooting incident, according to News 13 .

“We are in full support of the on-going Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the traumatic incident that occurred at our Church this morning. We will continue to cooperate with the investigators in every way that we can. Until the investigation is complete, we will not be making any public statements. Thank you for understanding. The members of our Church will continue to pray for all those involved in this morning’s incident. We would ask all who read this release to do the same.”

Members of the church were quite shaken up when they heard about the shooting.

“To hear it happened here in my neighborhood, and not only my neighborhood, but my church, it’s shocking,” said Robert Quintana, according to WFTV .

“It’s just a tough situation right now,” said Gabriel Colon.

Benjamin Parangan survived his gun duel with the pistol packing pastor and police have charged him with aggravated assault with intent to kill. He is currently in stable condition and will be booked into the Osceola County Jail after the hospital releases him. Investigators say that Pastor Terry Howell’s involvement in the shooting will be treated as a case of self defense.
