Rob Thomas Finger: Matchbox Twenty Singer Feeling Unwell After Nasty Accident

Rob Thomas’ finger is feeling a little “unwell.” The Matchbox Twenty singer cut off the tip of his finger on Tuesday morning while making breakfast for his wife, Mari.

Rob Thomas’ fingertip was severed after he accidentally cut it preparing food.

The Matchbox Twenty front man shared a few photos of his deformed finger on his social networking sites and letting his loyal fans know that he was feeling okay after the accident.

“At the hospital now. There’s supposed to be more finger there.”

It’s rare to see Rob Thomas’ name in the news, but when his fans saw that the singer/songwriter had injured his finger, they immediately became concerned for the handsome hit maker.

“Ouch. It’s not good for a musician to be losing a bit of a digit.”

“Don’t eat anything Rob tries to give you.”

However, Rob has a lot to be thankful for, and is doing extremely well for someone who rose to fame in the 1990’s, proving his talent, voice, and lyrics have serious longevity. Unfortunately, according to the Inquisitr, others have not been so lucky.

Of course, Rob Thomas’ followers were a bit concerned about the singer’s ability to play guitar and piano after the mishap. However, it seems that after some medical attention Thomas will be just fine, and hopefully in time to go back on the road with his band Matchbox Twenty to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary.

Rob and the guys have teased a big anniversary tour in the upcoming year and so many of his fans are hoping they get to catch a glimpse of the band celebrating 20 years of success with great songs such as “3 a.m.,” “Push,” “Unwell,” “Bright Lights,” “She’s So Mean,” and “Overjoyed.”

Meanwhile, it’s likely that Rob Thomas’ wife, Marisol Maldonado, whom he married in 1999, will be taking care of her husband as his finger heals from the nasty cut as it’s only fair since he was making her breakfast at the time the accident happened.

Rob and Marisol have been together for 15 years and have kept their relationship mostly private. However, Thomas does write a lot of songs about his personal experiences and feelings, so many of his tunes were inspired by Mari and their life together, which Marisol has said in the past is just part of the deal when you marry a songwriter/musician.

Fans are wishing Rob Thomas a speedy recovery, and who knows? Maybe he’ll feel inspired by his most recent drama.
