Marvel’s New Ant-Man Promo Poster Gives Us First Good Look At Ant-Man, Yellowjacket Costumes
Marvel is looking to double up once again next summer, with the late summer dedicated to yet another relatively unknown superhero property, Ant-Man. Marvel’s ramping up the hype for Ant-Man already, though, and a new promotional poster for the superhero heist film has given us a really good look at both the hero and villain for Marvel’s next big gamble.
The new pic is one of the first bits of promotional art for Ant-Man, and it comes to us by way of ComicBookMovie, where they note that we may be on the verge of getting a trailer for the forthcoming film. Reportedly, the Ant-Man trailer has already been “classified with a 1:48 run-time,” and some believe that we could see it debut as early as this week.
The promo art gives us a clear look at the design of the Ant-Man suit Paul Rudd will be wearing in the superhero flick when it hits theaters next summer. It also confirms earlier speculation on the look of Ant-Man‘s antagonist, Yellowjacket. Early in November, an image leaked that appeared to be Yellowjacket, and the new promotional art confirms that that image was in fact the villain for the forthcoming Marvel movie.

Ant-Man has had something of a rough road to release, with multiple obstacles hindering production seemingly since it got underway. The film has reportedly undergone multiple rewrites and personnel shifts, with directors being brought on and kicked off. These difficulties have some wondering if Ant man might well be Marvel’s first “rush job” film. Marvel, though, appears undeterred, and there has apparently been no discussion of scaling back Ant-Man‘s release or scrapping it.

Ant-Man will hit theaters this summer after Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Marvel will no doubt use that inevitable blockbuster to build hype for Ant-Man. The film will feature Paul Rudd as the titular hero, though Marvel is positioning it as a heist film, wherein Ant-Man must join forces with his mentor, Hank Pym, in order to pull off a caper that will save the world. Ant-Man hits theaters on July 17.
