‘Once Upon A Time’ To Feature More Swan Queen And Will Scarlet
Once Upon a Time fans have a lot to look forward to when the show returns on March 1.
Co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis recently talked to Entertainment Weekly, and what they said should please many different factions of Once Upon a Time fans. Swan Queen fans have been dying to see more interaction between Regina and Emma ever since the tumblr-bait that was that backs-to-the-door scene, and now they’re going to get it. According to Kitsis, Regina and Emma’s relationship continues to grow during the second half of season 4. This news will surely send Swan Queen shippers’ hearts all aflutter.
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland star Michael Socha was a bit under-utilized during his first few episodes of OUAT, but it sounds like he’s finally going to do something other than moping around and drinking at the library. Horowitz confirmed that the second half of the season will feature more of the Knave, and Kitsis hinted that he’s going to play an important part in the upcoming story arc.
“We”re really excited about the second half because we’re going to see much more Will.”
It’s possible that his story will involve Maleficent. The Inquistir previously reported that Regina’s old friend is coming to town with the other Queens of Darkness, and Will’s life might be in danger if he ever crosses paths with the dark fairy again — he incurred Maleficent’s wrath by stealing her magic looking glass on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Fans of Socha’s cancelled TV show are also dying to know what happened to Will’s true love Anastasia, and surely, his upcoming story will include an answer to that question.
Horowitz and Kitsis confirmed that the identity of the mysterious Sorcerer will be revealed before the end of season 4, but they wouldn’t say whether the man (or woman) who used to own Rumple’s powerful magic hat is also the Author that Regina is searching for. However, they did reveal that the Sorcerer isn’t Yen Sid during a different interview.
The co-creators revealed that Once Upon a Time fans will soon find out what happened to everyone who got sucked into the Sorcerer’s hat, and it sounds like Rumple will get a chance to redeem himself even though he tried to use the hat to hoover up the mother of his grandson. Kitsis hinted that Rumple will eventually see the light when he was asked if RumBelle fans should still have hope for the couple’s happy ending.
“Yes, they should have hope because this is a show about hope. The minute you lose hope, then nothing will happen.”
Unfortunately, Rumple’s new allies, the Queens of Darkness, aren’t the best company to keep if he wants to stay on the road to redemption. Cruella de Vil is one of his co-conspirators, and it sounds like animal lovers are going to hate her — Kitsis confirmed that Pongo should be very worried when her Panther De Ville rolls into town. The Once Upon a Time Cruella will be far more dangerous than the past versions of the character because she actually possesses magic. During an interview with TV Line, Horowitz and Kitsis revealed that her magic is very “dark,” and it “deals with animals.”
In the midst of all this madness, somehow Once Upon a Time will also manage to squeeze in Ursula and Hook’s back stories and an appearance by Pinocchio.
It sounds like Once Upon a Time will be throwing the kitchen sink at fans when it returns March 1 on ABC. Are you looking forward to the show’s return or are you afraid that there will be too much going on?
