Iggy Azalea’s life may not be so “Fancy” after all. On top of her feud with rapper Azealia Banks, the Australian hip-hop artist is now reportedly fearing for her safety because of her violent ex-boyfriend.
TMZ is reporting that Azalea’s ex, Hefe Wine, is asking the judge to move an upcoming trial involving himself and Iggy from L.A. to Houston where he lives, but Iggy is “panicked.” Azalea claims that Wine is “vindictive and violent,” and “it seems she’s saying Wine has more access to her if she comes to him.”
According to Electronic Urban Report , this whole situation started when Azalea filed a federal lawsuit against Wine that alleges he illegally released an EP earlier this year titled Inizio . Music from that EP contained unreleased master recordings stolen from her computer when she was dating Wine in 2009.
“In August, Azalea successfully removed the EP from all retail outlets after her lawyer sent a cease-and-desist letter,” EUR reports. “For his part, Wine says he has a contract with Azalea that gives him the right to release all music and videos recorded when he was with her. According to Azalea’s camp, the signature on her contract with Wine is a forgery.”
Another wrinkle in this case is the contention made by Wine that he also possesses an alleged Iggy Azalea sex tape the couple made when they were together. As reported by Inquisitr , that very sex tape may be the one hacktivists threatened to release via Twitter if Iggy did not apologize to rapper Azealia Banks over remarks made during a bitter Twitter feud.
The aforementioned beef between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks began when Azealia went on Hot 97’s morning show and slammed the “Fancy” hit maker.
“I feel like, in this country, whenever it comes to our things, like black issues or black politics or black music or whatever, there’s always this undercurrent of kinda like a ‘(Expletive) you… Y’all don’t really own (expletive), y’all don’t have (expletive),” Banks said.
She then dissed Azalea as her rant continued against white rappers in general.
“That Macklemore album wasn’t better than the Drake record. That Iggy Azalea (expletive) isn’t better than any (expletive) black girl that’s rapping today.”
Iggy fired back at Banks, calling her a “bigot,” while rappers from all corners including Q-Tip to Ja Rule have since weighed in on the beef.
All in all, this has been quite the eventful year for the Australian star. From smash hits to Twitter beef to fearing for her life because of violent ex-boyfriends, what’s next for Iggy Azalea?
