Miley Cyrus Goes Topless For ‘Free The Nipple,’ Obviously Doesn’t Care About Impressing Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Mom
Miley Cyrus just won’t stop posting wild and crazy pictures on her Instagram page.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer recently took a break from sharing wacky fan edits and scary wrist incision snapshots on the social media site to get serious about something that’s close to her heart: the “free the nipple” campaign. According to E! News, Miley Cyrus did this by sharing an artistic topless photo on Instagram.
Miley’s black and white body shot has already been taken down, but you can see a censored version of the photo below.
“Some lame ass deff gonna [flag] that but f–kkkkkkk it,” she captioned the intimate snapshot. “#practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #FreedatS**t.”
The Free the Nipple campaign is a movement aimed at drawing attention to gender inequality and ending the media’s “glorification of violence and repression of nudity.” Instagram is the perfect social media site to use as a soapbox when trying to draw attention to the campaign because it doesn’t treat all nipples equally — men are free to show theirs off while women’s nip pics get deleted. Chelsea Handler also recently drew attention to Instagram’s nudity policy when her topless snow photo was deleted the day after Christmas.
According to the Mirror, other celebrity supporters of the Free the Nipple campaign include Michelle Rodriguez, Rihanna, Lena Dunham, Scout Willis, and Liv Tyler.
To prove that she’s one of the most enthusiastic supporters of the movement to make bare female breasts less taboo, Miley Cyrus actually recorded a song for the Free the Nipple movie. According to Billboard, the film features Miley’s cover of the 1971 Melanie Safka tune “Look What They’ve Done To My Song, Ma.”
Cyrus might love baring her body, but her Instagram antics probably failed to impress boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger’s mother (most moms wouldn’t be impressed by partially-nude pics of their son’s girlfriends). However, there are conflicting reports about how Maria Shriver really feels about her son dating Cyrus. Hollywood Life claims that Maria isn’t a fan of Miley, and didn’t want the singer to visit her home during the holidays. However, E! News reports that Maria approves of Miley’s relationship with Patrick and thinks that the singer is a “very nice girl.”
Schwarzenegger and Cyrus can’t be too serious yet — Arnold’s son still hasn’t popped up on his girlfriend’s crazy Instagram page. Miley spends a lot of time posting photos on the social media site, so a picture of Patrick Schwarzenegger could be seen as a sign that things are getting really serious (some day she might love him more than she loves pizza).
What do you think of Miley Cyrus’ support of the Free the Nipple campaign? Is it a worthy cause?
