Will Amber Heard And Johnny Depp Split Or Wed On New Year’s Eve?
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been the subject of breakup rumors recently, and now the couple seems to have reconciled and set a wedding date for New Year’s Eve, according to Fashion and Style. The tabloids have also been buzzing about Johnny Depp’s drinking and in-home rehab, so is Amber stepping up now and standing by her man to help him get back on track? Will Johnny and Amber tie the knot Wednesday night?
The Pirates of the Caribbean star had met Heard on set of their film The Rum Diary, sparking romance rumors despite his involvement at the time with long time girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, with which he has two children. After Depp and Paradis split, he began publicly dating Amber Heard. The pair got engaged Christmas Eve, 2013, but have hit a rough patch in the relationship it seems.
Since the embarrassing, boozy speech Depp gave at the Hollywood Film Awards, multiple media outlets began reporting that Johnny and Amber’s wedding plans were on hold and that the couple had actually gone their separate ways. But it seems Johnny has invited family and close personal friends to his private island on New Year’s Eve to celebrate the holiday with him and Heard, prompting rumors that the party will actually be a surprise wedding. Or at least it was supposed to be a surprise.
Celebrities on the guest list for Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s holiday bash include Steven Tyler, Marilyn Manson, and Helena Bonham Carter, who just split with her longtime partner, Tim Burton, Depp’s longtime creative collaborator on such films as Sleepy Hollow and Alice in Wonderland.
The big questions for most of Depp’s fans is did splitting with Amber Heard set off his drinking problems or was being with her the source of his drinking problems? Radar Online reports that Depp’s ex, Vanessa Paradis, is blaming Heard for Johnny falling off the wagon and drinking so heavily, due to her former partying ways. But now Amber is on the same page as Paradis, asking Johnny to dial back on the excesses and get sober again.
Despite being engaged to the stunning Amber Heard, one also has to wonder if Depp is feeling blue about his recent string of box office bombs, including The Rum Diary, The Lone Ranger, Dark Shadows, and Transcendence. Amber was also part of The Rum Diary, but recently starred in 3 Days to Kill which earned over $30 million. Heard’s most successful film to date has been Zombieland, which grossed over $75 million.
