Breaking News — Unfortunately, flight number QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control between its flight from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore. This happened minutes after 7 a.m., Sunday, December 28. There are said to be 162 total passengers aboard the plane, including the crew.

To note, the plane’s registration number is PK-AXC and is an Airbus A320-200. Responsibly, the airline has established an emergency number, +622129850801, for the passengers’ families and friends to obtain updated information on the situation.
At the moment, no further information has been given at this time. However, AirAsia says that more information will be posted on the company’s website as it is acquired.
The flight was due to arrive in Singapore at 8:37 a.m. local time.
