Nina Dobrev Quitting TV After ‘Vampire Diaries?’ Ian Somerhalder Movie Career Struggling
Is Nina Dobrev planning to< a href="http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2014/nina-dobrev-quitting-television-after-the-vampire-diaries-ian-somerhalders-movie-career-non-existent/" target="_blank">quit her TV career when The Vampire Diaries ends? Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that the actress, who is best known for playing Elena Gilbert on the CW series, wants to leave her TV roots behind her and transition into a full-fledged movie star.
According to the report, although Nina Dobrev’s ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, was the more well known of the two when they began filming The Vampire Diaries, it’s Nina who has emerged as the brighter star, and she has a real shot at a film career.
Even though Ian’s movie The Anomaly flopped, he kept hope alive of landing a breakout movie role. He campaigned to play Christian Grey in the highly anticipated film Fifty Shades of Grey, a role that eventually went to Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, and then later Jamie Dornan.
On the other hand, Nina Dobrev has a great shot at launching a successful film career. According to IMDb, Nina has already appeared in movies such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Lets Be Cops. The gorgeous brunette is well liked in Hollywood and by fans, and could transition nicely from TV to movies like others before. For example, Jennifer Aniston went from being known solely as Rachel Green on Friends to America’s Sweetheart and landing tons of movie roles.
Of course, Ian Somerhalder is also well liked by fans, and is smoking hot. The Vampire Diaries has been good to the actor, but for some reason the movie roles just are rolling in. Perhaps he’s meant to be a great television star, and when his current series is over he’ll hopefully land another network gig. After all, fans love seeing him on their television screens week after week.
However, Somerhalder has been very lucky in the love department as of late. After splitting with Doberv, the actor was single for months before beginning a romance with Twilight actress Nikki Reed.
Ian and Nikki have reportedly been living together in Atlanta, and although, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, Reed has been causing some problems on the set of The Vampire Diaries, the couple seem to be going strong, and recently spent the Christmas holiday on a romantic ski vacation.
