Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly supporting their child’s desire to be called “John.” According to InTouch Weekly , Hollywood’s hottest couple has given John the freedom to express himself and have been very supportive when it comes to his choice of clothing, and even his name preference — and this isn’t anything new. Jolie and Pitt have been very open and honest about their child being a tomboy, but rumors resurfaced after the 8-year-old attended the Unbroken premiere in a suit.

“She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers,” Jolie said previously. Years ago, Pitt told Oprah Winfrey that Shiloh wanted to be called “John.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are being praised for their open-mindedness. The two have not looked at John’s desire to dress and act as a boy as “just a phase.” Instead, the couple has embraced their child, and given him the opportunity to explore who he really is.
“To explore what it means to be both genders is also totally normal, but the problem is we have suppressed it for so many generations, that people are sill uncomfortable with it,” said clinical psychologist Linda Blair.
According to Refinery 29 , there was more attention on John at the Unbroken premiere as he dressed just like his older brothers , and still sported a short haircut.
“The couple’s oldest biological child, who was assigned female at birth, joined brothers Maddox and Pax wearing sharp suits and short haircuts.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children together; three biological, and three adopted. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Jolie recently opened up about keeping her personal life in check while managing her career, something she says is “hard work.”
“Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family.”
Do you think Angelina and Brad are good parents? What do you think of their decision to grant John’s wishes to be treated as a boy?
