Angelina Jolie has been bashed in yet another series of hacked Sony emails. For those who missed it, Sony is in hot water over a series of emails that leaked. As previously reported on Inquisitr , the emails reportedly slammed a number of actors, including Denzel Washington and black actors collectively. Needless to say, the conversations have caused quite a stir, and many are seeing the massive entertainment subsidiary in a new and unfavorable light.
Now, the Maleficent star is at the center of controversy. According to E! News , the initial discussion began as a three-way conversation between Jolie, film producer Scott Rudin, and Sony co-chair Amy Pascal. The three were reportedly discussing the upcoming film Cleopatra . However, they reportedly have a few disagreements in regards to the film’s script and Jolie’s character. Apparently, Jolie felt the script needed to be enhanced, but Rudin and Pascal felt otherwise.
Here’s an excerpt from the email conversation .
Jolie wrote, “The one thought I would ask you both is about her ‘bald.’ I think that made sense in earlier drafts, but if we are saying every time she’s in bed she has no hair or a shaved head, it changes the sensuality. I wonder if we should keep it out and discuss as an idea with the director. But I worry we could scare off a director.”
Rudin replied, “First I thought bald but then I was sitting at home during the night and I couldn’t sleep because of it so now I think shaved; Or possibly a fade like Kid ‘n Play. Maybe shaved for Alexandria, bald for Rome? And then curly tendrils for the asp? What do you think?”
“Well she was amazing with a perm in that Jewish movie about Daniel pearl [‘A Mighty Heart’],” Pascal wrote. “So I’m tempted to throw that look in somewhere but I don’t think I can beat you can beat that kid n play look possibly with lots of pearls.”
After the short, yet awkward comedic banter, the conversation took a bit of a turn when Rudin reportedly cut Jolie out of the discussion. Then he wrote, “Kill me now. Immediately,” in another email to Pascal. That’s reportedly when the real bashing began. Rudin reportedly told Pascal Jolie was “ seriously out of her mind .” But, that’s not all he had to say. In another email previously released, he referred to Jolie as a “minimally talented spoiled brat.”
Pascal and Rudin have since released a public statement of apology for their actions.
“Private emails between friends and colleagues written in haste and without much thought or sensitivity, even when the content of them is meant to be in jest, can result in offense where none was intended,” he said.
