‘Minecraft’ TU19 Hits Xbox One And 360, Soon For PlayStation Consoles
That long-awaited Minecraft TU19 console update was finally released to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Thursday. 4J Studios surprisingly announced the update’s availability and impending PlayStation release after not giving any hints that it would come so soon. Some Minecraft players have already found a surprise though.
For previous Minecraft title updates, the developer typically first announces that the update has been sent to Microsoft and Sony for certification. It then takes approximately a week to two weeks for the update to be tested and approved for release by both organizations. That wasn’t the case for the TU19 release though, as the 4J Studios surprised everyone this morning with the following Tweets.

So where is the update for Minecraft editions on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita? Sony’s certification process is a little more complicated because each region has its own certification submission, as 4J Studios explained.
The update will be coming out soon for #MinecraftPS4 #MinecraftPS3 and #MinecraftPSVita!

So what is included with the update? It actually encompasses three Minecraft updates made to the PC – the Pretty Scary Update, Redstone Update, and Horse Update.
The Pretty Scary Update added Bats, Witches, the Wither boss, and Wither Skeletons as new mobs. It also brought Beacons and items that were included in the TU14 update, such as Carrots on Sticks, Anvils, and more.
The Redstone Update focused primarily on adding new redstone blocks, but also optimized the lighting engine. Some of the new blocks included the comparator, hopper, dropper, daylight sensor, trapped chest, weighted pressure plates, and block of redstone. Some PC specific updates, like a scoreboard system, did not make the transfer to the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Lastly, the Horse Update brought horses, naturally, plus donkeys and mules. It also brought leads to tie to any mob, plus hay, carpet, coal blocks, and hardened clay that can be turned into stained clay with dye.
Just be aware that one glitch has already been discovered. Some players have reported problems getting out of minecarts and off horses. 4J Studios suggests turning tooltips on for now.
A lot of people are having issues exiting Minecarts and dismounting Horses, probably due to having Tooltips off. Press the right stick in.

As I reported for Inquisitr previously, the Minecraft TU19 update comes with an all new Tutorial World. British YouTube broadcasters StampyLongnose and iBallisticSquid explored the new world and discovered a lovely surprise to honor them and other YouTube broadcasters who support the game.
