Attorney for Bill Cosby Accuser Judy Huth Says Two Witnesses Support Allegations Of Underage Abuse
The attorney representing Judy Huth, the woman who alleges Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her when she was only 15 years old, says he has interviewed two witnesses who can corroborate Huth’s allegations. Attorney Marc Strecker also maintains he has reviewed photographs of Cosby and Huth together at the Playboy Mansion.
According to the Associated Press, in a sworn statement filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Strecker says the photographs of Cosby and Huth together at the Playboy Mansion are from the 1970s, the time period in which Huth alleges the sexual abuse occurred.
Strecker is representing Huth in a sexual battery lawsuit against Cosby. Judy Huth’s lawsuit states that she and a 16-year-old friend first met Cosby at a film shoot in Los Angeles. A week after meeting him, Huth alleges Cosby gave her and the friend a few drinks at a tennis club while the three were playing pool. According to Huth, Cosby then took her and the friend to the Playboy Mansion where, Huth alleges, he forced her to perform a sexual act on him with her hand. It is unclear how the two witnesses Strecker interviewed corroborate Huth’s accusations.
TMZ reports the suit filed by Attorney Marc Strecker in Superior Court also includes a statement from Dr. Anthony E. Reading, a clinical psychologist and UCLA professor who interviewed Judy Huth. Reading’s statement indicates in his professional opinion, Huth, in fact, suffered childhood sexual abuse.
“I have concluded, based upon my knowledge of the facts and issues, that there is, in my professional opinion, a reasonable basis to believe that Ms. Huth had been subject to childhood sexual abuse.”
Reading’s declaration, however, does not indicate Huth suffered that childhood abuse at the hands of Cosby.
Bill Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, is trying to get Huth’s lawsuit dismissed, saying it is an extortion attempt. Singer claims the alleged victim tried to sell her story to the tabloids 10 years ago, which undermines her credibility.
Although the alleged sexual abuse Huth is claiming against Cosby happened decades ago, the LAPD indicated earlier this month it plans to conduct a search of the Playboy Mansion to look for evidence regarding Judy Huth’s sexual assault allegations.
Huth is just one of 20 women who are now alleging Bill Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them. Her sexual battery lawsuit is the first suit the comedian has faced concerning sexual assault allegations since 2005. Cosby is facing another lawsuit filed by another accuser, Tamara Green, who says Cosby has ruined her reputation by denying her sexual abuse allegations.
