How does Britney Spears maintain that bangin’ body? The 33-year-old mother of two finally is ready to reveal all her secrets, from her low-carb diet delights (think sushi) to her outrageously rigorous workout routine, reported Us Weekly .
Spears has earned fame for her dance numbers, and she lists the calorie-blasting power of dance number one among her exercise tips.
Dancing is a great cardio workout. Tough and fun at the same time.
Britney recently showed off her dance moves on her “Piece of Me” tour below.
But when she’s not rehearsing for a show, Britney doesn’t let up on her need for exercise speed. Spears takes high intensity classes that give her major results in minimum time. Her routine combines cardiovascular work with whole-body movements for weight loss benefits as well as toning and flexibility, resulting in the bikini body that she happily flaunted on the cover of Women’s Health .
I like my workouts to be effective in a short amount of time. I start with 20 minutes of intense cardio—usually running— move on to light free weights, body-weight exercises such as pushups, squats, and situps, then finish it off with a stretch.
When it comes to diet, Britney also is focused on maintaining her sleek physique rather than indulging, according to the New York Daily News .
“I’m really into raw food — sushi, basically,” revealed Spears.
As for snacks she likes fresh fruit, in keeping with her new philosophy that simple is often best. Britney also nibbles on low-carb Nut Thins.
I’m not about the biggest and the best. I’m about enjoying my life, more than anything.
Part of that enjoyment comes from being consistent about her healthy lifestyle, emphasizes Britney. Don’t look for that inner wild child to emerge, because she’s determined to focus on the art of clean living.
“Consistency is key,” stressed Britney.
Revealing that she takes yoga classes for balance, Spears recognizes that fitness plays a role in her emotional health.
Daily exercise is important for me both mentally and physically. I don’t mind working out. Trainers keep you motivated, but I didn’t have a problem being motivated.
As the Inquisitr reported, Britney has relied for years on celebrity trainer Tony Martinez . He guided her to a low-carb diet and designed a routine that encouraged her love of dance as well as yoga.
“It also included a mix of ab workouts, treadmill runs and treadmill exercises walking backward at different intervals and walking forward,” said Tony of Britney’s routine.
Martinez was instrumental in helping Spears prep for her Las Vegas show, he noted. Prior to her initial appearance on stage, Britney talked about the tough preparation involved.
I’m doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week, in addition to a lot of cardio–hour long sessions three times a week, with my trainer, Tony Martinez. The [Vegas] performances won’t be easy–they’ll be a massive party from start to finish. And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed.
Britney also talked about her yoga and cardio routine in a video, shown below.
