Scarlett Johansson Talks Weight Loss Secrets And Sex Symbol Challenges [Video]
Scarlett Johansson is taking on the challenge of evaluating herself, motivated by Barbara Walters’ decision to include the 30-year-old actress in her special broadcast about the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014. And although Johansson has successfully juggled her responsibilities as a wife, new mom, and box-office-record-breaking superstar, she’s not enchanted with her body, reported Us Weekly.
“It’s an okay body. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly remarkable, though. I don’t like my thighs, my midsection.”
Although Scarlett is negative about her body image, she doesn’t hesitate to emote about the joys of motherhood, including breastfeeding.
“It’s wonderful and exhausting. The love is just unbelievable. It’s very overwhelming. I’m nursing and I love it. It’s the best way to get back in shape.”
In her newest film, Lucy, Johansson plays a strong woman who overcomes her captors in a warrior princess type of role, below.

But Scarlett is quick to shy away from the idea that she is a sex symbol.
“I never put on a sexy face, so I don’t know what it means to act seductively,” disavowed Scarlett.
As for playing sex scenes, Johansson tries to keep it real. She describes the sensation as freeing.
“You have to be totally without judgment. It’s sort of liberating. It’s challenging, but you’ve just got to stay in the moment.”
It’s difficult for her to escape the buzz about her body after filming shape-revealing roles in Under The Skin and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she admitted to the Daily Mail.

Scarlett emphasizes that except for the most dangerous stunts, she does her own tricky acrobatics. And it’s sometimes painful, but Johansson feels that taking on those stunts is part of immersing herself in a role.
“It’s important people know that. If you just hand over to the experts when the going gets tough, I don’t think you are fully embracing the part. I like doing the stunts. Oh, sure, it hurts sometimes.”
Accordingly, Scarlett pressures herself to stay in great shape. She follows a diet that’s high in low-calorie vegetables.
“By sticking to a kale-rich diet and being nice and patient when I’m being dressed for the day in wardrobe,” says Johansson about looking fabulous in body-revealing roles.
As for taking on roles as a superhero, Scarlett’s celebrity trainer Bobby Strom revealed all to WebMD.
Johansson pushed herself through 90-minute, high-intensity workouts that included dumbbells, straight bars, resistance bands, medicine balls, Bosu balls, and TRX. For aerobic fitness, Scarlett sweated through Olympic-style lifting and platform jumping.
Bobby Strom has also helped other celebrities achieve their best bodies for tough roles, he reveals on his Web site. Among them are Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds, the latter of whom wrote a testimonial for Strom’s site after turning to Bobby for help in transforming into a superhero.
I was completely floored by the transformation that took place. After just 3 months of training with Bobby and carefully following his nutrition plan, I gained 15 lbs. of muscle while dropping to 3 percent body fat.
Another celebrity who believes in intense workouts for weight loss is Missy Elliott, as the Inquisitr reported. Missy recently lost 30 pounds by turning to the high-intensity regimen designed by celebrity trainer Shaun T, which is known as Insanity. Elliott tweeted her success to those who had asked for her weight loss secrets.
“I lost 30 eating healthy/work out to @ShaunTFitness T25 videos. I do the Insanity workout.”
