Lil Wayne Twitter Rant: Birdman Deeply Offended, Not Letting Lil Wayne Off Label

Lil Wayne and Birdman – aka Baby – were once so close that Birdman kissed Lil Wayne on the lips back in 2006, as chronicled by plenty of photos showing the duo kissing in Google Images. As reported by MTV News, the kiss between Lil Wayne and Birdman was a sort-of Mafia styled greeting, though that hasn’t stopped some fans from continuing to theorize that the relationship between Lil Wayne and Birdman ran deeper than a father-son type of relationship, and now that the duo is having a disagreement, those theories abound more.

As reported by the Inquisitr, Lil Wayne took to his official Twitter account at Lil Wayne WEEZY F ( @LilTunechi) to complain about his record company, and blame Birdman for holding up the release of his next album.

“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released because Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.”

According to the latest reports from TMZ, those Twitter rants and claims from Lil Wayne deeply offended Birdman, and Birdman isn’t going to let Lil Wayne leave the record label without a court battle and a judge saying he must release Lil Wayne. This news sent fans theorizing on a bunch of reasons why the feud is occurring, with suggestions on next steps.

“Birdman is nothing without Lil Wayne. But, this whole feud is just an excuse for not releasing Tha Carter 5.”

Other fans of Lil Wayne and Baby postulated that jealousy was at the root of the feuding.

“Birdman’s too busy with Young Thug and Weezy is jealous.”

In order to escape Lil Wayne being a so-called prisoner of Cash Money Records, some Lil Wayne fans have urged him to do the things that Jay Z or Prince did when they had issues with their record labels or wanted to take a bolder stance in the direction of their own careers.

“I think Wayne should take a page out of Jay Z’s book and announce his retirement… lay low a while and record under Dwayne Carter then when he’s free from the contract go back to Lil Wayne again. I remember Prince doing something similar with the symbol and while he was recording his good stuff under the symbol he was recording crazy un-radio friendly ish under Prince to the point they released him then he went back to Prince.”

Birdman blamed administrative work on the delay of Lil Wayne’s album, claiming Lil Wayne is not a businessman, but a rapper.
