Mel B Husband Abuse Rumors, Spice Girl’s Wedding Ring Missing After Domestic Violence Claims

Claims that Mel B’s husband abused her started swirling after the X Factor judge was spotted on set sporting what appeared to be a bruise on her cheek, which was partially concealed by makeup but still visible to the naked eye. She wasn’t wearing her wedding band. Twitter exploded with speculation about the singer, prompting Mel B’s husband to tackle the abuse claims in a series of angry tweets, according to OK! Magazine.

To make matters worse, Mel B was reportedly suffering from a mysterious illness that left her hospitalized and unable to appear on a Saturday night episode of X Factor, when her protégé Andrea Faustini was voted off the show. Tulisa Contostavlos took the place of the ailing judge for the evening, reported BBC News.

“Idon’t usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting un true!” Mel B’s husband said of abuse allegations on Twitter. “Mel was very ill a bunch of doctors helped her get better if fans can’t just relax B4 being negative they r not real fans of @OfficialMelB”

By Sunday night, Mel B was back at her post, but she looked like she was still feeling a bit under the weather. That’s when viewers noticed the alleged bruise and the conspicuous lack of her wedding band. Nonetheless, she took the time to thank doctors who treated her for her undisclosed illness.

“I really missed being here,” Mel B told the audience, “but thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took care of me and got me here tonight.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte became parents to a baby girl in 2011. The former member of the all female group Spice Girls also has two daughters from previous relationships, Phoenix Chi and her daughter Angel, whose father is actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.

Prior to marrying Belafonte, Mel B enjoyed romantic relationships with a handful of women, including the executive producer of The Seat Filler, Christine Crokos, in 2005, according to Famous Fix. The Spice Girls singer herself has admitted to having lesbian affairs, including one four-year dalliance with a married woman, according to a report by the Inquisitr; she considers herself bisexual. Luann Lee, a former Playboy centerfold model, has said that she and Mel B had a sexual encounter in a wheelchair accessible bathroom stall in a Las Vegas hotel while hubby Stephen Belafonte reportedly waited outside. Mel B dismissed Lee’s claims when asked about the encounter.

Mel B has yet to speak out about her husband’s abuse accusations.
