Sony Hack: Screenplay For Latest James Bond Film, ‘Spectre,’ Stolen By Hackers
The Sony Pictures hack has struck the James Bond franchise yet again. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the hack revealed that the new Bond feature, Spectre, will end up costing the movie studio $300 million. That information was originally mentioned in an internal memo by Jonathan Glickman, the president of MGM.
Now, the new Bond film has had its screenplay stolen by the people responsible for the Sony hack. According to a statement released on the official James Bond website, Eon Productions mentioned that an “early version” of the Spectre screenplay was taken in the massive hack attack on Sony Pictures.
Here is a portion of the statement.
“Eon Productions, the producers of the James Bond films, learned this morning that an early version of the screenplay for the new Bond film, ‘Spectre,’ is amongst the material stolen and illegally made public by hackers who infiltrated the Sony Pictures Entertainment computer system. Eon Productions is concerned that third parties who have received the stolen screenplay may seek to publish it or its contents.”
All of this information being revealed by the people responsible for the Sony hack comes just shortly after the announcement of the new Bond film. Spectre was revealed as the new title, and Daniel Craig would be reprising his role as the secret agent. It was also announced that two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz would be joining the cast, and Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux would be the new Bond girls.

While the Sony hack has revealed a lot of information about the latest James Bond film that the studio didn’t intend to reveal, spokesperson Robert Lawson told Reuters that there would be no halt in production.
“Productions are still moving forward.”
The hackers are not done just yet. According to Re/code, the people responsible for the Sony hack posted a message, saying they have plans to reveal a lot more.
“We are preparing for you a Christmas gift. The gift will be larger quantities of data. And it will be more interesting. The gift will surely give you much more pleasure and put Sony Pictures into the worst state.”
Along with information about the new James Bond film, the Inquisitr also reported that the Sony hack revealed information about the Ghostbusters reboot, as well as an email exchange between executives that mocked President Obama.
