Dallas Cowboys Hope To Knock Philadelphia Eagles Off Their Perch

The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a place they didn’t want to be near the close of a surprisingly good season—in danger of the turn-around being all for nothing.

The Cowboys are currently 9-4, and are competing with the Philadelphia Eagle s for supremacy in the NFC East. Dallas hosted Philadelphia on Thanksgiving, and it ended in a rather embarrassing 33-10 loss.

To make matters worse, the Dallas Cowboys found themselves knocked out of a playoff spot by combination of the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are also 9-4 at present.

However, the Seahawks were able to partly keep the playoff hopes of the Cowboys alive after upsetting the Eagles in Philadelphia 24-14.

The Cowboys at the same time gave themselves something of a morale boost after dominating the Bears in Chicago and walking away with a 41-28 win.

Even though the Dallas Cowboys gave themselves a fighting chance at a playoff feature, it’s important to remember that the Philadelphia Eagles are NOT the Chicago Bears.

This is a team that just suffered a surprise at home humiliation.

While the Dallas Cowboys may be headed to Philadelphia in hopes of payback for the “Turkey Day” loss, this situation may work against them.

The Eagles are to be very sensitive to a back-to-back loss at this dangerous stage of the season. The idea of such a turn of events happening thanks to a major rival would be a nightmare .

It could be that the Dallas Cowboys took the Philadelphia Eagles for granted when they met in November. After all, the Cowboys were enjoying something of a winning streak.

But they cannot have any presumptions about this game; Philadelphia is going to be a mean, feisty, and dirty opponent. If a victory comes, it will be very likely hard won.

Both teams are staring down the very real possibility that Sunday could be the beginning of everything they fought for.

With just three regular season games left, it’s hard to tell on paper what team has a more challenging schedule left ahead of it.

The Cowboys are set to face the Indianapolis Colts after Sunday’s game.

The Colts are hoping to clinch the AFC South this week. However, if this doesn’t come to fruition, the Cowboys could have a nightmare close to their season.

Two subsequent losses would certainly signal the end of the Dallas Cowboys’ season.

The same could be said of Philadelphia.

Although the Thanksgiving game made things tougher for the Dallas Cowboys, it is this game that may ultimately determine whether they will return to past glory…or if it will be the same old story.
