Selena Gomez Gets Emotional Over Justin Bieber In ‘My AMA Diary:’ Rehearsals To Stage

Jaws dropped when Selena Gomez released her emotional, Justin Bieber-inspired single “The Heart Wants What It Wants” in November, then delivered a spellbinding, live debut of the song at the American Music Awards at the end of the month.

Now, fans of the 22-year-old can watch part of that journey from rehearsal to stage.

On Friday evening, the pop princess posted a video titled “My AMA Diary” that shows her going through her paces leading up to her big moment, her state of mind before walking the red carpet, then hitting the stage and aftermath.

The 5-minute, digital diary opens with Selena explaining to her friend [Tiana] why she felt it necessary to release “The Heart Wants It Wants,” and what she hoped viewers would take from her performance.

“It’ll be such a release,” the starlet said, with a breathy catch in her voice. “I’m just excited that people everywhere who are feeling what I feel and feel that, will get to see that. And I just want people to be able to relate to that.”

And, release she did. Fans of the songstress will already know the Latina said she cried at least five times during her rehearsal.

Of those rehearsals, Selena said, “I kind of waited a little bit to give it my full performance,” and revealed she got into a tearful frame of mind by listening to one of her favorite songs, “Oceans,” by Hillsong UNITED.

Opening up about the nerves she previously talked about in Instagram messages before the AMAs, the brunette beauty said,

“This performance is a little frightening, but I’m very excited.” Selena admitted. “When I had the intention behind the performance, I knew that I wanted it to be all of me.”

She explained, “Somebody asked me awhile ago, ‘What’s the one thing you wish people knew about you?’ And I said I wanted it to be my heart.”

There’s a lot of sweet and interesting reveals throughout the diary. Especially if, like us, you find behind-the-scenes stuff just as informative as the main event.

One example, is the fact that Selena went barefoot under that nude Giorgio Armani Prive dress she wore onstage. Who knew?

Another moment showed SelGo imagining how she would feel after her performance.

“I can’t wait,” she revealed. “I think this means a lot for me. And when I’m done, it’ll be like a huge weight has lifted off [off] me.”

Meanwhile, despite Selena declaring she has “so much respect and love for [Justin]” in an interview with Norway’s NRJ radio earlier this week, one gossip site has decided that isn’t quite dramatic enough and claims the starlet is laying down ultimatums.

Hollywood Life alleges Selena will compromise her plans for 2015 if Justin splashes out on a promise ring by New Year’s Eve.

In addition, the outlet claims “Justin bragged that he’s got so many girls, and could get any girl he wanted, including Selena,” while insisting the heartthrob’s latest social media snaps are to gain his former girlfriend’s attention.

All of which sounds like absolute nonsense to us. But who knows? Maybe Hollywood Life really do have sources with startlingly close access to Jelena, and an inside track on their innermost thoughts and decisions 24/7?
