‘The Flash’ Spoilers: Dr. Harrison Wells’ Secrets And Connection To The Reverse Flash
Dr. Harrison Wells may be the character with the most secrets on The Flash, but the midseason finale, “The Man in the Yellow Suit,” may have begun to reveal them — or at least one of them. However, it’s just the beginning.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, The Flash midseason finale saw Barry come face-to-face with the Reverse Flash. He wasn’t the only one. Dr. Harrison Wells did as well. When the Reverse Flash took the bait that the police and S.T.A.R. Labs set, the man in the yellow suit was trapped but he managed to get through the force field to bring Dr. Wells into the trap with him and really lay into him. Then, at the end of the episode, Dr. Wells used a ring with a Flash crest to open a secret compartment in that hidden room of his and revealed the Reverse Flash yellow suit. He attached a tachyon to it and said Merry Christmas in the Reverse Flash’s voice. Obviously, there is a lot more to it considering they were in the same room in front of other people. So time travel, the suit working unmanned, someone else in the suit, something else, take your pick.
Harrison Wells has his secrets, and Comicbook.com posted the newest video in the “Chasing Lightning” series that is all about him. In the video, which you can watch below, Tom Cavanagh discusses his “mysterious” character and talks about that final scene in the pilot that revealed he can walk and has that secret room.
“Harrison Wells is a mysterious character. He’s very handsome, he’s very mysterious … Clearly, there’s something more to it … They always refer to Harrison Wells as being this incredibly smart dude, who’s got a lot of stuff in the air, but clearly, from what we’ve seen, he has Barry’s interests and protection at heart.”
The promo for The Flash‘s return in January, which you can watch below, shows Dr. Wells in front of the Reverse Flash’s suit. Cisco nicknames the guy and you can see Dr. Wells’ reaction to that. That’s not all that’s coming up, however. It looks like Barry’s looking for a suit upgrade from Cisco, Captain Cold returns with Heat Wave at his side (and the show stages a Prison Break reunion with Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell) and one of the team ends up in serious danger.
Finally, if you’re looking to find out all you can about the Reverse Flash before the series returns, Zap2it has posted a primer on the character. It’s worth it to note that one version is Professor Zoom, whose real name was Eobard Thawne, who is “from the future and possesses a Flash costume with reverse colors that is powered up by a machine.” Could that explain why the Reverse Flash didn’t go after Eddie when he took out the other officers in the room?
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW. What’s your theory about Dr. Harrison Wells?
