Ex-Vegan Carrie Underwood Talks Pregnancy Cravings, Fitness, Baby Concerts [Video]
Carrie Underwood has become the proud owner of one of the world’s most photographed baby bumps. Making the rounds of talk shows this week to discuss her new line of fitness apparel, Underwood couldn’t resist admitting her excitement over her pregnancy, from food cravings to why she still considers her husband Mike Fisher to be so hot, reported E News.
When Carrie and Mike visited Austria, people thought that Fisher was actually Chris Hemsworth, who won People magazine’s title of Sexiest Man Alive for 2014. What did Underwood think of that comparison?
“I think, like, my husband is way hotter,” said Carrie loyally.
And while it’s Fisher who is famed for his fitness as a member of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL), Carrie also is enthusiastic about exercise’s role in her life. She’s been working out throughout her pregnancy, which has helped her adjust to what she candidly admitted sometimes feels odd.
Underwood is so pumped about the power of working out that she’s created a new business venture called Calia.
“[Fitness has] always been an important part of my life just to feel good about what I do, I’m just running around on stage all the time. I just need to feel good and feel like I can do my job to the best of my ability.”
As part of her enthusiasm, Underwood has partnered with Dick’s Sporting Goods to create the Calia apparel line.
“It’s a fitness lifestyle brand, which means you can kinda wear it everywhere,” explained Carrie. “It does what you need it to do in the gym, but you look cute if you have to leave the gym.”
When it comes to her pregnancy diet, Underwood is one of several celebrities who abandoned a vegan lifestyle temporarily, as the Inquisitr reported.
“With pregnancy, I am definitely going more on the vegetarian side. As soon as I am not pregnant anymore, I will go back to being vegan.”
Part of preparing for having a baby means practicing lullabies, Underwood told Jimmy Fallon. She reveals how she sings to her baby bump below.
As far as her cravings go, Carrie confesses her unexpected food longings to Rachael Ray in a Dec. 12 appearance, revealed the Rachael Ray Show in a sneak peek preview.
“I give myself license to have things I might not normally have. Sometimes I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and I’ll be like, ‘Man, I’m hungry,’ and I get up and have a midnight snack, which I’ve never done before.”
“I ate Pop-Tarts, I haven’t done that since college. I knew they were in the pantry, my husband put them in there, so I guess that was kind of a craving; that was weird. I’ve never seen Pop-Tarts in our house before! For some reason they magically appeared in our pantry! I saw them there, and then I wanted them.”
Underwood also discussed her feelings about having a baby boy.
“I am so excited and so happy [to be having a boy],” she rejoiced. “If we can make it all work out, the next one should be a girl!…We’re just so blessed.”
