The Original ‘Teen Mom’ Cast Won’t Be Reunited For Season 5, Confirms Farrah Abraham
The original Teen Mom cast will not be together for the upcoming fifth season. Although recent reports claimed Farrah Abraham was begging producers for her job back, she has since confirmed she has no plans of taking part in any future Teen Mom seasons.
As the Inquisitr reported earlier this month, a source claimed to In Touch Weekly that Abraham had contacted producers, promising to clean up her act if she was allowed to return to the show. “She’ll join the cast [if the show gets picked up for another season],” a source told the magazine.
However, when Radar Online asked Abraham, who was part of the original Teen Mom cast, if she was considering starring in season five or season six, Abraham said, “Not at all!”
Last week, as reported by the Inquisitr, Abraham denied contacting producers. “Not true and that is a lie, I have no need to change [and no need] to call people,” she revealed to Rumorfix.
Without Abraham on board, the rest of the original Teen Mom cast, which consists of Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell, will be returning to MTV alone, but that doesn’t mean the show will be short of drama.
In addition to Portwood being seen getting back to her life as a mom after spending a year and a half behind bars, Bookout will introduce fans to her new boyfriend, Taylor McKinney. As if that weren’t enough, Lowell and her fiancé, Tyler Baltierra, are expecting a baby — and planning a wedding.
In May, after word of a fifth season of Teen Mom first hit the web, it was reported MTV had cut Abraham from negotiations after deeming her a bad example.
MTV execs “willingly cut Farrah” from negotiations, mainly because the other original Teen Mom cast members refused to do the show if she was brought back. “MTV agreed,” an insider explained to Us Weekly. “They feel she set a bad example and doesn’t represent the network well.”
The other girls “don’t want their kids on a show where someone’s talking about sex toys,” a source previously told the magazine.
“Truthfully, I was never friends with any of them,” she told Us in April of her former costars. “Personally, I like to keep my life separate. We came in the project separate, and I think it’s best we keep our lives separate.”
The remaining three members of the original Teen Mom cast will return to MTV in 2015.
