Kirsten Dunst And ‘Breaking Bad’s’ Jesse Plemons Head To ‘Fargo’ For Season 2
Season 2 of Fargo is underway, and now news of this season’s stars has been revealed. According to People magazine, actress Kirsten Dunst, and Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons will star in the second season of Fargo.
Previously, the miniseries got attention when Billy Bob Thornton made his comeback as the villainous Lorne Malvo. The series also starred Colin Hanks, Allison Tolman, and Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard.
In the new season, Dunst will play Peggy Blomquist, who is described as “a small-town beautician with big city dreams.” Her husband will be played by, you guessed it, Jesse Plemons.
The actor who got his big break on the last season of Breaking Bad will play Ed, a butcher’s assistant. The character is described as “supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.”

The second season of Fargo is set to air over a period of 10 weeks, just like the first season. The airing of the second season will start in the fall of 2015, and will take place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as Luverne, Minnesota in 1976.
Back in July, executive producer Noah Hawley revealed the time period for the upcoming season of Fargo at the Television Critics Association.
“That time period is really interesting in American history; post-Vietnam, post-Watergate, just before Ronald Reagan became president.”

Additionally this also means that a key player in season one, Allison Tolman, with not be returning as the clever cop Molly Solverson.
“I spoke to Allison Tolman this morning and told her that unless she can channel her four-year-old self.”
For the most part, this is the first time that Dunst has made the switch from film to television, aside from a few guest starring roles. This really says a lot in regards to how much the medium of television is changing, and how actors are finding more fulfilling narratives to be a a part of, especially actresses who are vying to play someone other than the nagging wife or a sex symbol.
As for Jesse Plemons, there was a rumor that he was slated for the new Star Wars movie, but that never quite panned out as anything other than a rumor.
