Rumors have been circulating that the two most recently married Duggars are fighting and the evidence pointed towards Twitter. The rumors began after it was discovered that Jill Dillard was not following her sister, Jessa Seewald, on Twitter any longer. In retaliation, it was claimed that Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald, unfollowed Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard. If that isn’t enough to make your head spin, I don’t know what is. However, it appears it was all a misunderstanding and the girls are as sisterly as ever.
The Duggar Family Blog posted photos that show both the Dillards and Seewalds sharing dinner together prior to the annual “Duggar Family Christmas Recital.” The Duggar family didn’t mention the rumors when posting the photos; however, the caption seems to say it all.
“This evening, Jill and Derick Dillard had Jessa and Ben Seewald over for a double dinner date. The newlywed couples enjoyed chatting as they chowed down on beans and cornbread.”
Jill also seemed to put rumors to rest when she posted the exact same photo to her personal Instagram account with a caption that showed some sisterly love.
“ @jessaseewald and @ben_seewald are here for dinner! So fun to hang out with our siblings! #familydinner #19kids #beansandcornbread.”
It seems that Duggar fans can now sleep well knowing that both Jill and Jessa seem as happy as ever and it appears the whole Twitter ordeal was just an oversight. Even after the rumors surfaced and the two were seen happily dining together, Jill has not followed Jessa on Twitter. When looking further into her account it appears there may be one really good reason why: she really doesn’t use Twitter. Though both girls have Twitter accounts, all of the posts come from Instagram. Both Duggar girls use Instagram heavily, and it seems that Twitter is just an extension of those accounts. Therefore, it seems likely that Jill just hasn’t taken the time to login and follow her sister since they do all their sharing via Instagram.
Later in the evening, both the Dillards and Seewalds attended the “Duggar Family Christmas Recital” at the Duggar compound. They shared a number of photos of their siblings showing off their talents for a small audience. Jedidiah, Joy-Anna, and Jeremiah performed “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” on string instruments. Justin, James, and Jason, accompanied by Mandie Query, played “Pat-A-Pan,” a French Christmas carol and Mandie Query joined Joy-Anna Duggar for a piano duet called “Duet Fantasy on Jingle Bells” on the piano.
Many might also note that Mandie Query may look a bit familiar from some past Duggar rumors. Mandi was thought to be a potential partner for John David Duggar after photos of the pair surfaced online. However, the rumors were squashed when the family noted that Mandie was simply a family friend.
