‘RHONY’ Ramona Singer Is ‘Furious’ Over New Co-Star
RHONY star Ramona Singer is not happy with the new addition to the cast. According to a new report, Singer invited Dorinda Medley to the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, but now that she could be replacing her, Singer is not happy.
“Ramona is the one who brought Dorinda into the Housewives,” a source told Radar Online on December 8. “Ramona and Dorinda have been friends for a long time, and she introduced Dorinda to the rest of the women.”
The insider claimed, “Dorinda is already filming. She was filming a trip with the other housewives.”
On Singer’s Facebook page last month, she shared a photo of herself and Medley in a limo with the remainder of the RHONY cast, including Bethenny Frankel, Kristen Taekman, Sonja Morgan and Countess LuAnn de Lesseps.
However, while Singer, who is in the middle of a divorce, as reported by the Inquisitr, and Medley looked friendly in the photo, Radar‘s source claimed that was far from the truth. “Ramona is furious that she is being replaced by Dorinda, who is a bigger socialite,” a friend of Medley’s explained. “Ramona is also mad that Dorinda had been negotiating with Bravo behind her back to replace her.”
“Ramona is freaking out that she has been replaced by someone who she brought on the show to help her!”
Adding insult to injury is the fact that Medley is close to Singer’s former RHONY co-star and friend, Jill Zarin, and “was filmed with Zarin at her fashion show,” the friend says.
Although Medley hasn’t officially been named as a housewife of the show, she certainly fits the bill of a typical Real Housewives star. “Dorinda was married to George Soros’ former partner, Richard Medley,” the first source says. “Dorinda has a lot of money and is a lady that lunches.”
“The show needed to have someone a part of the cast that had money and Dorinda fits that bill. She was married to a very rich man. She has big houses and lived in London for a while, so she is also worldly. She also has a big house in the Berkshires.”
In September, after starring on the show for six seasons, Singer was demoted from a full-time housewife to a recurring role. “Bravo is casting the show around Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill,” an insider told Us Weekly. “[When] Ramona carried the show, that is why ratings plummeted, they think.”
Following the news of her demotion, the Inquisitr reported Singer was considering quitting the show.
RHONY season seven will premiere next year on Bravo.
