Chris Pratt Shares Touching Story Of Son Jack’s Premature Birth
Chris Pratt is an awesome guy, and his story about his son Jack will make you like him even more.
On Friday, Pratt spoke at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies, a non-profit organization dedicated to baby health and pregnancy. He revealed that his son Jack, now 2 years old, was born nine weeks premature, weighing only three pounds and 12 ounces.
According to Cosmopolitan UK, Pratt, who is married to actress Anna Faris, was told that their son may need cosmetic surgery for his eyes and may be born with special needs. Pratt talked about holding his son for the first time.
“I made promises in that moment about what kind of dad I wanted to be and I just prayed he’d live long enough that I could keep them.”
Chris and Anna were able to take Jack home after a month in the hospital. He said that their son has grown to be a “strong, smart, happy, funny, beautiful boy” who loves vegetables. Chris stated that what they went through was difficult, as they were dealing with a life or death situation. He also thanked March of Dimes for cutting-edge medicine that helped their son pull through.
“I’ve done all kinds of cool things as an actor – I’ve jumped out of helicopters and done some daring stunts and played baseball in a professional stadium, but none of it means anything compared to being somebody’s daddy.”
Chris Pratt and Anna Farris are now enjoying life with their son Jack as evidenced by a Thanksgiving photo that Pratt posted on Twitter, MTV News reports.

While Pratt may be busy with movie projects such as the upcoming Jurassic World, he also takes time to pay it forward. In a report by Inquisitr, Pratt spent time visiting a children’s hospital all dressed up as the Star-Lord to entertain young patients. He paid a visit as part of the hospital’s screening of Guardians of the Galaxy.
