Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about how happy he is at Real Madrid, and he’s admitted that the current squad is the best he has ever played with.
The Portuguese forward made the remarks during the presentation of dozens of new Audis to the entire Real Madrid squad. After being quizzed about the current crops of players at the Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Marca about them.
“The team is full of confidence and we want to keep it that way. It’s the best dressing room I’ve been part of in recent years.”
However, Cristiano Ronaldo then went on to state that unless Real Madrid win even more trophies under Carlo Ancelotti, then all of the praise that they have received will mean nothing.
“We often hear people saying that this is the best Real Madrid team in decades, but in my opinion that’s something we should only judge at the end of each season. It will all depend on whether or not the team succeeds in winning the important trophies we’re fighting for. However, and at least for the moment, we’re on great form and already on a 17-game winning streak.”
According to Ronaldo 7 , the former Manchester United forward then went on to wax lyrical about his teammates, and he admitted that the team spirit within the squad at the moment is impeccable.
“Real Madrid is like a second family to me. We’re spending a lot of time together and we’re working hard day after day. I’m truly happy with the teammates I have around me and what I can say is that they’ve all been phenomenal so far. And of course, the coaching staff is also tremendously important for building the great chemistry we have going on in the dressing room.”
It’s widely believed that Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the best soccer player in the world. He has been on a scintillating run of form since the start of the season. So much so that he has already scored over 20 goals in just over 3 months.
In fact, earlier this week, Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with an award for scoring the most amount of goals in 2013. During this period, the Real Madrid forward scored 69 times for both club and country, and to celebrate the accolade, the 29-year-old shared an image of himself with the gong on Instagram.
According to the Daily Mail , he also captioned the image with, “I feel honored to win the World’s Top Goalscorer 2013 award by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Thank you all.”
