Will ‘The Real Housewives Of New York’ Season 7 Feature Bethenny Frankel’s Estranged Husband Jason Hoppy?
The Real Housewives of New York‘s seventh season is currently in production, but unfortunately, Bethenny Frankel’s highly-publicized return hasn’t been nearly as dramatic as producers were hoping.
In the latest development in the Skinnygirl mogul’s Bravo comeback, a source claims Frankel’s estranged husband, Jason Hoppy, was offered a chance to be on the show.
“Bravo thought having Bethenny and Jason work out their ongoing issues related to the divorce in front of the camera would be ratings gold,” an insider explained to Radar Online on December 5. “The scenes Bethenny has filmed with the other ladies have been rather boring, and producers have been disappointed. Bethenny wasn’t consulted about the proposal because she would have been livid,” the source said.
Then, when producers approached Hoppy, he declined.
“Jason turned it down flatly because he wants nothing to do with the show ever again! As for trying to resolve the major problems facing Bethenny and Jason, it just won’t happen.”
As for Frankel’s new boyfriend, Michael Cerussi, whom she’s been dating for about a year, he will only be seen in a limited role on The Real Housewives of New York. As the Inquisitr reported, Frankel wasn’t too keen on exposing her personal life on the show.
Frankel is being “very secretive about Michael, and their relationship whenever she has been filming,” a source told Radar Online. “For Bethenny this time, she doesn’t want there to be a strong focus on her personal life. Expect Michael to pop up in scenes, but it won’t be in depth. Bethenny wants to keep the relationship private for several obvious reasons.”
“Her never-ending divorce to Jason Hoppy is the main issue,” the source explained. “She doesn’t want him to point to anything she has done with Michael and use it against her in court. Being legally married, with the divorce still pending, Bethenny is going to have to explain this all to their daughter,Bryn, 4, when she gets older. Bethenny wants to be able to tell Bryn she handled everything with class and dignity.”
According to a second Inquisitr report, another source recently came forward to Radar Online, claiming Frankel was using The Real Housewives of New York to sell her Skinnygirl products.
“Bethenny is insisting on featuring her Skinnygirl products at every opportunity,” a source close to the show told the site. “The requests from Bethenny have crew members concerned the upcoming season will be one big promo for all things Bethenny.”
The Real Housewives of New York season seven will premiere sometime in 2015.
