Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Radamel Falcao Tipped To Exit, Real Madrid Defender Sought

Manchester United are set to have a busy few weeks, after various transfer rumors surrounding possible signings started to circulate.

One of these rumors focuses around Radamel Falcao’s future at Manchester United, which is beginning to look bleaker and bleaker as each day passes. Matt Le Tissier, who previously played with Southampton, can’t see the Colombian forward staying at Old Trafford because of his injuries.

Falcao was signed on loan from Monaco in the summer for one season. The former Atletico Madrid forward has been blighted with a serious knee injury for the best part of the last 12 months. Since he arrived in Manchester, he has only played a handful of games for Louis Van Gaal’s side.

In fact, Radamel Falcao hasn’t started a game for Manchester United in close to two months. Because of these problems Le Tissier has told Express Sport that he believes Manchester United won’t purchase the player.

“I think if Falcao tends to miss games on a regular basis, it will put teams off wanting to sign him permanently. Perhaps he won’t be there and Robin Van Perise you will have to assess as the season goes on.”

Meanwhile, the Express have also tipped Manchester United to make a $30 million for Raphael Varane. The Real Madrid centre-back had a startling beginning to his career, and he made himself a permanent member of the Spanish side’s back-line last season.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has preferred to start with Sergio Ramos and Pepe this campaign. This has led to widespread rumors that Manchester United and Chelsea will test Real Madrid’s resolve to keep the 19-year-old by placing their own bids for the defender.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has long been an admirer of the French centre-back. This adulation began after he watched over Varane’s development during his time at the Bernabeu.

Louis Van Gaal is also looking to make huge changes to his defense. Manchester United’s back four has been incredibly shaky ever since the Dutch coach took over from David Moyes in the summer. After Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic left in the summer, Manchester United were only left with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans, and Marcos Rojo as their recognized centre-backs. Each have failed to excel in the position, and many Manchester United fans feel that a centre-back is needed to shore up the position. Varane would certainly fit this bill.
