Monica Bellucci Sets Record As Oldest Bond Girl In ‘Spectre’

The whole cast of the new Bond film is grabbing headlines, but new Bond girl Monica Bellucci is really stepping out as far as the fans are concerned. The cast and title announcement were expected to hit the web today, but an older Bond girl wasn’t.

At 50-years-old Monica Bellucci is the oldest Bond girl, and joins the ranks of Honor Blackman, who portrayed Pussy Galore at the age of 39-years-old in the 1964 film Goldfinger.

Bellucci who will play the role of Lucia Sciarra, was present at the press conference at Pinewood Studios alongside Bond himself, Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris and Lea Seydoux.

During the conference Bellucci addressed the public by saying, “James Bond is our fantasy – the ideal man. The man is a protector, he is dangerous, mysterious and sexy, and a perfect English gentleman.”

When the actress was asked what exactly makes a good Bond girl, she said “a good director.” Monica doesn’t have to worry about a good director, as the film is in extremely capable hands with Sam Mendes. The director has practically reinvented the tone of the series when he took on Skyfall. In addition to Spectre he’s also rumored to direct Bond 25 as well.

At the press conference the production unveiled the cast and title announcement, as well as the first poster for the new film Spectre. It’s a pretty sleek look.

As for the latest Bond girl fans are already buying Monica Bellucci as the right choice.
