‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Spoilers: Finale Brings Beautiful, Satisfying And Grim End, Jimmy Smits Teases
The last episode of Sons of Anarchy looms just ahead and fans are going wild with theories about how it all ends. With Gemma, Unser and Juice gone, SOA enthusiasts know that the final episode will focus on the club’s unfinished business. Is Jax going to still be alive at the end? Many fans aren’t feeling terribly confident about that.
The only thing known for certain is that the show’s creator, Kurt Sutter likes to shake up the fans, and he knows that expectations are high for this series finale. Others with the show, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi for example, have said that the Sons of Anarchy finale is satisfying, yet unpredictable. Everybody, including Rossi and Katey Sagal, were on-hand for the final day of taping, and now Jimmy Smits is sharing some SOA spoiler teasers as well.
Smits, who plays Nero, tells E! Online that the finale is “extremely satisfying.” Jimmy doesn’t believe that the audience will be at all disappointed by the December 9 show. He adds that while it is sad, it is “touching in a lot of ways.” It’s not all fun and games, though, as Smits adds that it’s also a grim episode.
Many viewers are speculating that Jax will die in the finale; the question is how. Does he emulate his father’s death by riding JT’s motorcycle off a cliff or something of that nature? Does the club, perhaps even Chibs, kill him after the mayhem vote?
There’s been a Sutter tease floating around for some time now that Chibs will break everybody’s heart, and many wonder if that comes to play with the mayhem vote. Will Chibs do the deed? Could he sacrifice himself to save Jax? Could Jax end up riding off into the sunset, heading to the farm to join Nero, Wendy and the boys, alive and well?
No matter how it ends, those with the show seem convinced that fans will be surprised. Smits teases that it ends beautifully and will definitely gel with the elements from the full run of the show. He adds that he was surprised by the ending, especially about how Nero ends up, which would perhaps seemingly allude to Nero and his boy not making it to the farm. After all is said and done, however, Smits says he gets it.
Nero, at least, will learn of Gemma and Unser’s death, it seems. Smits says that viewers will see more of the guilt he carries when he was asked if Nero will feel responsible for Unser’s death. Jimmy adds that the show will continue to deliver “its one-two punch” throughout the finale, and that people will be happy with how it ends up.
The second preview released for the finale, titled “Papa’s Goods,” does have a new Sons of Anarchy spoiler tidbit at the beginning compared to the initial preview shown after last Tuesday’s show. As Spoiler TV notes, Jax tells Patterson that Gemma killed Tara. At the end of the preview, Patterson asks what happens at the end of the day, and Jax replies that the bad guys lose. Does he end up taking all of the responsibility of being the bad guy when all is said and done? That’s what many suspect, but they won’t know for certain until December 9.
Will fans feel satisfied by the series finale? Sutter had a big challenge ahead of him in orchestrating this one, but most are confident he will deliver. The series finale of Sons of Anarchy titled “Papa’s Goods” airs on Tuesday, December 9.
