Blonde Ambition: Justin Bieber Charms Fans, Press At West Coast Customs Opening
There was no mistaking Justin Bieber’s newly dyed blond hair and smile as he stepped out for the grand opening of West Coast Customs in its new location.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old supported his business partner and pal Ryan Friedlinghaus at the launch of the shop in Burbank, California. Ryan, famously used to host MTV’s Pimp My Ride and founded West Coast Customs in 1993.
The operation is one of the world’s premiere vehicle modification shops.
Meanwhile, Justin’s very different platinum, blonde look was even more noticeable at the event, as he wore a black jersey teamed with black, leather pants.
The Canadian did add a dash of color with red and green plaid sneakers and minimal bling with a gold chain necklace.
Despite his black snapback cap, fans did get a chance to see the singer’s new bleached blonde hair as he took off the cap at times.
Justin and Ryan also featured in a new episode of Fox Sports 2’s West Coast Customs on Sunday, during which the duo were seen signing contracts sealing their deal.
The Biebs was shown a customized SUV matte black Escalade that Ryan converted into a family-friendly “Batmobile” for the hitmaker’s dad and two younger siblings. Friedlinghaus customized the singer’s Cadillac CTS-V last year.
Hours before the show aired, Justin invited fans down to the event in a message posted to his Instagram account, along with a pic of an Audi interior.
He teased, “Grand opening of the new @westcoastcustoms shop meet me there 2101 W Empire Ave Burbank, CA 91504 here now.”
The heartthrob later shared a non-captioned Instagram selfie.
Video and pictures reveal the Canadian caused quite the stir when he arrived in his black Audi to screams from fans and a mixed crowd of press and automobile enthusiasts.
“Justin Bieber up close and personal! Crazy girls! #justinbieber #upcloseandpersonal,” one guest wrote next to the video seen below.
Justin went on to give interviews, pose with fans for photos and videos, and generally wow all those who came to the launch.
Some media and guests covering the event noted how charming Justin was with fans.
Monica Lizeth, Co-creator and Host of @TechtonicPop, tweeted,

Promoter Kenji thanked the Biebs for an Instagram video message the singer made for his — presumably — young daughter who was unable to attend the event.
In his caption, the grateful dad gushed,
“Thank you @justinbieber, I’m pretty sure you just made me the coolest dad in my 6 year olds eyes! (sic)…” In another post, he added, “This Bi[e]ber-fever is outta control, he was a reeeaall humble young guy though. #dontbeliebethemedia (sic).”
And there was more positive feedback on the singer’s conduct at the event.

At one point during the event, the young singer was interviewed about skating with Young Money pal and rapper Lil Wayne.
Justin revealed he found skating “fun” and a “release,” adding that he loved the “skating world.”
The “Heartbreaker” star and Ryan giving one of many interviews.
Justin’s protege, “Unbreakable” singer Madison Beer, also stopped by the opening.
The pretty teen accidentally knocked the Biebs’ snapback cap off when she hugged him, which made for a hilarious photo.
Chuffed fans and auto buffs later took to social media to share their encounters with the Biebs.
One attendee captured Justin’s Beatles-esque departure with his entourage.
“Hangin’ with the Biebz today,” wrote another.
The day before, the Biebs and pal, “All About That Bass” producer Maejor Ali were spotted enjoying themselves in Venice Beach, for a spot of skateboarding and relaxation.
Justin later posted a shot of himself in an Instagram photo, which was doubt delighted his legion of fans who can’t seem to get enough of seeing their idol’s new golden, blond locks, since he shared his first selfie on his Fahlo account on Friday.
He followed up with a pic of himself traveling with his mom, Pattie Mallette, whom he took out to lunch in Beverly Hills that same day.
The Biebs’ radical switch from brunette to a golden, blond ‘do isn’t the only huge change he has made recently. The former beau of off-on girlfriend Selena Gomez has just moved to an incredible 6,537 sq ft mansion located in the hills on Loma Linda Drive, Beverly Hills.
If that’s west coast custom, we wouldn’t say no.
