Katy Perry, Russell Brand Shoot Down Divorce Rumors

Singer Katy Perry and her husband Russel Brand have dismissed recent rumors that their one-year marriage is rocks.

“First I’m pregnant then I’m divorced,” Perry wrote on Twitter Wedensday, following reports that she and 36-year-old Brand were headed for splitsville. “What am I All My Children?! Erica Kane… pshhh… If I had a dollar for every time…”

Brand also addressed the false accusations during an interview on the Ellen Degeneres show which aired today.

“She (Perry) should’ve told me… There is always rumors, aren’t there? In the end you have to just not engage with internet technology…” the 36-year-old British comedian told Ellen. “I’ve treated the whole internet now like it’s a wicked little liar. I am really happily married.”

Not satisfied with his reply, Ellen asked: “So it’s not true?”

The Forgetting Sarah Marshell star then replied:

“Being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away and goes off and lives on it’s own and does what it wants. I wish it would do more interesting things… I don’t know what he’s doing, the other me, but I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge – and I’m still alive,” he added.

Brand and Perry tied the knot in India last October. They have no kids, though Perry told Ellen in November that she “would love to have children.”

Brand agreed: “I really would like one,” he told Ellen.
