Hanson to Release MMMHop Beer [Video]
Things have slowed down a bit for the formerly long-haired trio Hanson, but there is still a little juice left from their monster 90s hit “MMMbop.” The Hanson boys are currently on the “Shout It Out World Tour” in South America, and if we’re lucky, we’ll be drinking a Hanson brand MMMHop beer in 2012.
Hanson still tours and creates music, but the boys are also starting to find other ways to brand themselves. Hanson already has their own board game, Hansonoploly, and a record player to play their latest album, “Shout it Out.”
Zac Hanson told reporters at Oxford University Union:
“We of course make records, they are fundamental to what we do, but we wanted to create a brand so that our fans have a greater experience. What is vital is that Hanson merchandise is quality and not made solely with the purpose of profit. We have a board game and even a record player to play our last record on, but we will never make dolls, lunch boxes or toothbrushes that play our songs, for example. It’s vital our fans have trust in everything Hanson do. In fact, we are soon going to be selling our own beer, I’m not even joking. MMMHop IPA, anyone?”
According to Rolling Stone, the pop-trio plans to release MMMHop sometime in 2012. Should Hanson start relying on their beer business? Or do you think their music still pulls an audience? Here’s a single from their latest album.
Contact Music reports that Hanson wouldn’t be the first band to release its own beer. Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott launch a lager called Down ‘N Outz, Puff Daddy has his own vodka, and Carlos Santana has his own wine.
Would you drink Hanson’s MMMHop IPA?
