‘All About That Bass’ Gets A New Breastfeeding Twist

“All About That Bass” still garners hordes of attention with its catchy tune. And, as the Inquisitr earlier reported, parodies are everywhere. The Holderness family took part in the obsession by giving the world “All About That Baste,” a Thanksgiving inspired parody. Now the hit song has gotten another rendition added, and this one is about breastfeeding so, of course, it has to be titled “All About That Breast.”

Lori Burke, songwriter and mom of two, had the idea of writing a breastfeeding song while getting her kids ready for school one morning. Her ode to the boob is a song of encouragement to mothers struggling with nursing. The “All About That Bass” parody hosts lines such as “at first you may struggle and want to give up the fight, but just stick with it and soon you and baby will be all right.”

In an interview with Erie Reader, Burke tells of how her song does, indeed, encourage mothers.

“I want to help those new mamas who are frustrated. I had a mom write me yesterday that she was about to give up on breast feeding and in that moment she literally saw my video come up on her Facebook page, watched, laughed, and tried again. That made my day yesterday.”

According to the Huffington Post, Burke wants new moms, and everyone else, to understand the fundamental importance of women, “the female body is more important and functional than what the media — advertisers — wants us to believe. Boobs are there to feed us.”

And now the song, Lori Burke’s “All About That Breast.”

You may think this mom is bottle-bashing with her very outspoken support of breastfeeding. However, that is not the case. Burke told Reader than she has done it all in terms of feeding her children.

“I have two children 6 and 8 years old. I breastfed both but also bottle fed, pumped, used formula — I did it all. So I’m not trying to isolate moms who choose not to. I support all mothers and know that we all have to do what is best for our children and ourselves. Breast feeding is very stressful as a new mom. But it is the healthiest and least expensive way to feed your newborn, not to mention the bonding, immunities, and good things you pass on to your infant.”

Lori Burke certainly is “bringing boobies back” with her fantastic parody of “All About That Bass.”
