Scott Stapp, Creed Frontman, Claims Nefarious Forces Are Attacking Him
Scott Stapp, frontman for Creed and solo artist, is undergoing some serious hardships at the moment. Stapp claims that he’s been viciously attacked and left “completely penniless” in a 15-minute video statement that he placed on Facebook, according to TMZ. Scott claims that he’s been sleeping in his truck and dealing with libelous accusations about his character.
In the video, Scott Stapp talks about his current predicament, and hopes to set the record straight. Stapp also says that he wants to know that the rumors being said about him are not true.
The Creed frontman starts by saying in the Facebook video that “rumors of his death” were a hoax, and that he’s sober despite reports to the contrary.
“I’m as sober as can be. Once the rumors starting coming out, I began getting blood and urine tests once a week just in case someone called me on the carpet on it, I could prove it.”
The aforementioned vicious attacks were started, according to Scott Stapp, when he started an audit of his record company and his personal finances.
“Over the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me or royalties not paid and that’s when all hell began to break loose. This is a vicious attack because some people that we know and at the record company and outside of that have stolen quite a bit of money, and money can make people do many bad things and when they’re afraid of getting caught or exposed they can be ruthless in how they want to protect themselves for the crimes they’ve committed.”
Scott Stapp then goes on to say that all of his attempts to figure what was going on have brought on additional financial hardships.
“All of a sudden the IRS has frozen my bank accounts two or three times to leave me completely penniless. I don’t even understand that and why this is all happening at the same time. When I called to find out why they said, ‘Oh, we had an address mix up. It was a clerical error. So we’ll return your funds in nine to ten months.’ I don’t understand how that’s fair in America.”
Saying that his civil rights have been violated, Scott Stapp says the he intends to share all these details with the public despite being threatened with blackmail.
“I’m gonna take it public. And I’m gonna expose and I’m gonna fight every single individual that is responsible for this. Right now, I’m looking for an honest, good attorney that’s ready to fight and ready to take it all the way to the top.”
Stapp goes on to say that his current residence is in a Holiday Inn, but over the last few weeks has had to take to living in his truck. Scott also says that he’s gone days without food and even ended up in a hospital emergency room. Apparently, according to Scott, Stapp’s online banking account passwords have been changed and his savings and checking accounts were completely drained.
“I’m not playing victim and I’m not asking you to feel sorry. I’m just telling you the truth about what’s going on with my life.”
