Taylor Swift Singles Out Harry Styles During ‘Blank Space’ Performance, Shows Some Thigh

By now most of the internet has seen Taylor Swift’s extremely theatrical performance of her song “Blank Space” and the American Music Awards. Swift’s “Blank Space” has been making the news for a number of reasons lately, including an interesting “Blank Space” smart phone app that allows you to explore the set of the music video.

Taylor Swift also recently admitted that “Blank Space” was written as a parody of the media’s perception of her, particularly of the way she goes from relationship to relationship, writing about her ex-boyfriends in every song. It seems Taylor took that self-referential joke one step further during the AMA performance of “Blank Space.” She singled out her most famous ex right in the middle of the song: Harry Styles.

According to Hollywood Life, Swift and Styles have been sparking rumors about a rekindled romance. Neither Taylor nor Harry have addressed the gossip yet but Swift did make a peculiar gesture during the “Blank Space” performance that could be a hint about the nature of their relationship. Near the end of “Blank Space,” Taylor Swift pointed her finger out into the AMA audience. Who was she pointing at? One Direction’s Harry Styles, of course. There isn’t any footage of Styles reacting to Swift yet, but he can be seen grinning at his friends. But regardless of whether or not Taylor and Harry are getting back together, her decision to single him out during “Blank Space” was probably not meant to humiliate Styles. The One Direction heartthrob says he doesn’t mind being the subject of Swift’s songs — whether “Blank Space” was about him or not.

Another rumor about Swift and Styles has sprouted up that he allegedly sent her exactly 1,989 roses as a reference to Swift’s album 1989, which features “Blank Space.” Harry addressed this rumor during an appearance on Ellen.

“I know about the rumor. I don’t know anything about the roses. I think it might have been someone else and I may have falsely taken.”

But an insider for Hollywood Life reported that there’s still a possibility Harry and Taylor will get back together. Maybe her move during the “Blank Space” performance was an attempt to reach out to Styles.

“There’s not a chance in hell that Harry will date Taylor again. He’s a nice guy and wants to be friendly. He holds no grudges, but he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with Taylor again. It didn’t work out and wouldn’t work out if they tried it again. He knows that it would be a disaster.”

Singling out her ex-boyfriend is not the only thing Taylor Swift during “Blank Space” that people are talking about. According to the Economic Times, Swift flashed quite a bit of thigh in her mini-dress in the middle of the “Blank Space” performance.
