Amazing ‘Jurassic World’ Full Trailer Released Early And It Does Not Disappoint [Video]
The full, official trailer for the upcoming Stephen Spielberg movie Jurassic World was supposed to be released on Thanksgiving Day, but Universal Pictures decided to let the dinosaur out of the bag a little early, so to speak.
And the trailer is everything you want it to be.
Jurassic World isn’t even set to hit theaters until June 12, 2015, but you may want to go ahead and mark your calendars. Directed by Colin Treverrow, the movie takes place in an already established amusement park which allows humans to see and interact with real dinosaurs that have been cloned 22 years after the first Jurassic Park. It is, as i09 reports, “everything the failed Jurassic Park wanted to be.”
And the trailer is certainly littered with references to the original movie, from the iconic shots of the gates opening to reveal the parks, to the music playing in the background of the newly-released trailer, which is a low, more ominous take on the original theme music from Jurassic Park.
The footage itself is stunning, showing lush green forests that would look prehistoric if not for the fact that they are intersected by tracks for the high-speed train that apparently takes Jurassic World guests on large-scale tours, and deep turquoise waters that can be crossed by modern bridges. And the clear, futuristic rolling bubbles that guests can ride next to dinosaurs in will make you wish for one yourself.
But best of all, obviously, are the dinosaurs.
Because there are dinosaurs, of course — and they are bigger and better than before. Perhaps the most seat-jumping moment of the trailer comes during a shot of what appears to be a Sea World-like attraction, as a shark is dangled over a pool while an entranced audience watches breathlessly. What emerges to take the shark bait defies description — but rest assured, it’s big. And full of teeth. Just the way a good dinosaur should be, right?
And the trailer does release the hook of the film, which is summed up nicely by star Chris Pratt.
“You just went and made a new dinosaur?” he asks. “Probably not a good idea.”
There are no glimpses of the “new” dinosaur in the trailer, beyond some rather chilling (and gigantic) claw marks, but the scientists behind the cloning of the dinosaurs in the Jurassic World park have created a genetically modified hybrid of a dinosaur, mixing up dinosaur DNA that results in, as the trailer says, “a highly intelligent animal [that] will kill anything that moves.”
