Teresa Giudice Attempts To Delay Prison Term
Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months behind bars at her October 2 sentencing for fraud. However, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star isn’t quite ready for her January 5 entry date, and has reportedly been attempting to delay her sentencing.
According to a new report, Teresa is doing whatever it takes to delay her sentence, even if it means having to throw her husband, Joe Giudice, under the bus.
“Joe to go to rehab first,” a source revealed to Radar Online on November 25. “Teresa’s lawyers would then ask the judge to delay the surrender date because there wouldn’t be a parent in the house to take care of their four daughters.”
Unfortunately, Joe is “extremely angry” about his wife’s plan and not on board with rehab at all. Plus, “going to rehab early and postponing Teresa’s prison sentence would only delay the inevitable, and he doesn’t seem the point in dragging this on anymore,” the source explained.
Working in Joe’s favor would be the fact that Teresa Giudice has always denied he has a drinking problem, even after he nearly admitted it himself. During his interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Joe revealed he drank multiple glasses of wine nearly every night. This information, of course, will likely work against Joe.
Although Teresa’s rep insisted to Radar there was no truth to the rumor, the source added, “One thing is certain, Teresa hasn’t accepted the fact she is going to prison — she truly believes there is a way to get out of this.”
As the Inquisitr reported earlier this month, Teresa Giudice hasn’t been handling her upcoming prison term all too well.
“She’s skipping meals and surviving on coffee, a few nibbles and wine… She looks frail. Her family is worried as she continues to obsess about prison and waste away.”
Meanwhile, the same source who spoke of Tersesa Giudice revealed Joe hasn’t been doing much better. “Joe’s been known to start drinking hard alcohol at 10 a.m.,” an insider, who reportedly witnessed the boozing, told Radar. “It’s been going on for years, even when things were going good for them.”
As of whether or not the Giudices will soon return to Bravo, Andy Cohen has yet to make any decisions regarding a possible seventh season. “We have not made any plans relating to the future of the Jersey Housewives,” Cohen explained to Bravo’s The Dish. “The final reunion is airing tonight, and we’ll go back and meet and talk and re-evaluate soon.”
According to an Inquisitr report, if the show does return, Teresa Giudice will be joined by Jacqueline Laurita as a full-time housewife.
