Charlie XCX Rocks ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finale Wearing A Cheerleader Outfit

Charlie XCX transformed herself into a peppy cheerleader for her performance at the Australian Dancing with the Stars finale, Tuesday.

Charlotte Aitchison, 22, the Brit singing sensation, who goes by Charlie XCX, stormed the stage in a short blue and white cheerleading outfit. The outfit was emblazoned with the word SUCKER, which is the name of her newest album release.

Charlie XCX sang her new song “Break the Rules.”

She performed between the dance performances of finalists David Rodan, Ricki-Lee Coulter and Lynne McGranger. Charlie XCX put on an electric show and she showed off her popular ‘rock chic attitude,” reports The Daily Mail.

After the show she spoke about her performance at the AMA awards.

Yeah, yeah it’s been a bit of a whirlwind. It’s still pretty scary to perform in front of all these people,” she said.

Charlie XCX describes her style a “Barbie, scruffy cheerleader, bunker off school kind of girl.” She says her new release is “kind of like if Barbie met The Ramones.”

Though she enjoyed her time in Australia she said it was going to be short-lived. She was scheduled to fly the next day for her ARIA performance.

On Monday, she made a glamorous appearance on the red carpet at the music awards in L.A. She poured herself into a stunning black dress. She wore her dark locks in a Hollywood wave.

Charlie SCX then donned a studded choker as she performed two solo numbers. She also joined award-winner Iggy Azalea on stage to do a duet of the hit “Fancy.”

Recently Charlie shared her feelings about how being an outcast as a child stifled her personality. She says that over the past couple of years she has finally come into her own.

“‘I was never the cool kid in school, and loads of people told me.’ I’ve always been in control of everything that I’ve done but now so much more than ever. I feel 100 percent confident in my own vision. I have discussions and ask for opinions but at the end of the day it’s me making the calls and calling the shots. This wasn’t something curated by my record label. If I wanted to do a session with someone, I’d reach out to them and go do it. I think the best artists are the ones who constantly change — Madonna, Bowie. This idea of building a brand seems to have come about super-strong in the past 10 years but I don’t understand that so much. I don’t think it makes for interesting art, I think it makes for selling a product. I’m less interested in that and more interested in challenging myself and my audience. That I was weird, that I dressed uncool and did uncool things, that I was too nice, too happy. All of that made me want to compensate for my personality by making quite. “Now I really don’t care what people think – I’ve made this [new] album because it’s what comes naturally to me. I feel less afraid to say that no,'” she told the Evening Standard.

Her new found fame has given the singer the freedom and confidence to work with whom she chooses and to write what she wants.

The singer’s second album, Sucker, will be released on December 16.
