Diem Brown’s Ex Chris ‘CT’ Tamburello Proposed Five Days Before MTV Star’s Death
As details continue to emerge from Diem Brown’s final days, we’re slowly finding out that things weren’t over between the MTV star and her on-again-off-again ex Chris “CT” Tamburello.
According to US Weekly, Chris “CT” Tamburello proposed to Diem Brown five days before the MTV star died. CT was at her bedside in NYU Langone Medical Center. At one point Tamburello got down on one knee to propose to the star with a ruby ring, and a GoPro camera. The GoPro camera was significant as it was used to tape the entire proposal.
Much of Ct and Diem’s love story was filmed for the MTV audience to see, so the fact that their proposal was taped seems appropriate for this long enduring couple. CT and Diem fell in love on the 13th season of the MTV reality show The Challenge back in 2006, and since then their relationship has been pretty complicated, filled with ups and downs.
Diem’s friend Alicia Quarles spoke with US Weekly about the special moment. “He proposed and filmed the entire thing. Diem jokes that she hated rubies and said no.” Then Tamburello fetched another ring for a second proposal.
The proposal was of course bittersweet for the couple that had their own share of ups and downs. Although CT proposed again, Diem still stuck to her guns. A source close to the couple told US Weekly, “Diem knew she didn’t have much longer to live, and she didn’t want to be engaged under those circumstances.”
Quarles gave some insight to the couple’s relationship. “Maybe all of her friends didn’t understand it. I know they had a lot of love for each other. They were on and off for so many years. If she had more time on this earth, who knows what would have happened between them?”
As the Inquisitr reported, after Diem passed away, CT took to Instagram to share his own personal message to Brown.
“You have always been My Angel. And now you have your wings. We’ve been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other. Our plan to be together forever hasn’t changed… it’s just going to take a little longer now. And I’m going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don’t worry mama, I’m not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. I Love You Always and Forever.”
Diem Brown died on November 14 after battling cancer for the third time.
