David Guetta Claims Rihanna Is Working On A Dreamworks Soundtrack
French DJ David Guetta has some juicy news that Rihanna fans might be shocked and excited to hear about. Guetta claims she’s working on the soundtrack to a brand new Dreamworks cartoon film.
According to The Guardian, David Guetta revealed that he and Rihanna have collaborated on a brand new album that’s rumored to be the soundtrack to an upcoming major blockbuster. While Rihanna and Guetta are both working on their own perspective music, Rihanna is apparently putting a lot of her time into a mystery LP; and David has contributed a bit to the project.
The Daily Star reported on Rihanna’s new album, claiming that the animated film is titled Home. David Guetta shared these details with The Daily Star, claiming that he and she have worked together on at least two of the songs.
“I have done a couple of tracks for her but it’s for a second album. She’s doing a film and the music is for the soundtrack to that film. It’s quite different.”
According to Variety, the head of Dreamworks Animation, Jeffrey Katzenberg recently approached Rihanna to create a “concept album” for Home. Rihanna then reached out to David Guetta to help her on a few tracks. The story of the film is based on the book, The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex. In addition to Guetta, Rihanna’s soundtrack will feature the talents of Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin.
The 3D animated movie will be directed by Tim Johnson, who was behind several other Dreamworks projects, including Antz, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and Over the Hedge. Home, featuring the musical contributions of Rihanna and David Guetta, is slated to be released next year on November 26 through 20th Century Fox.
Rihanna is still hard at work on her eighth studio album, which should be out very soon. Rihanna spoke to ET about the album, saying: “I’m really excited about the music that we’ve been working on, so I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
Meanwhile, David Guetta has finished his most recent solo album, Listen. USA Today called Guetta’s new EDM LP the album of the week.
“Three years ago, with Nothing but the Beat, Guetta practically defined EDM for the mainstream. Now, he brings new meaning with Listen, and this time, it’s as much a treat for the ears as for the feet.”
