Fall Out Boy Reveal Sixth Studio Album Release Date
Following their summer tour, Monumentour, Fall Out Boy revealed they are busy creating brand new music, and have plans to release a new album. Already, they have released two new singles, “Centuries” and “Immortals,” the latter being used in the Disney movie Big Hero 6. On Monday, Fall Out Boy took to their Facebook account to make the announcement about their sixth studio album.
First, the band announced the release of their next single, which is titled “American Beauty/American Psycho,” will be released December 8 in digital format. A week later, fans will be able to preorder the album which will be released January 20, 2015.
According to Billboard, the band took to their Facebook page to reveal all the details saying, “Our 6th studio album, also called American Beauty/American Psycho comes out January 20th Worldwide. Digital album pre-orders and physical album preorder packages go on sale Dec 15 and will launch with several instant song downloads including the title track.”
There are four members in Fall Out Boy, including Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley. The band has been making music together for years, and their first studio album, Take This To Your Grave, was released in 2003. Their following studio album, From Under the Cork Tree, included their break out hits “Dance, Dance” and “Sugar, We’re Going Down,” both of which helped the band to broaden their already large fan base.
Despite their success, the band released two more studio albums before taking a nearly five-year hiatus. During the hiatus, lead singer Patrick Stump pursued a solo career and released an album. Pete Wentz also formed Black Cards with Bebe Rexha, though Rexha eventually left the band.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the band got back together and started working on music again which resulted in the highly anticipated 2013 album Save Rock and Roll. Along with the album, the band also recorded music videos for each song which, when watched in succession, tell a story. This project was titled The Young Blood Chronicles, and was praised by fans. Fall Out Boy then teamed up with Paramore for a tour which they called Monumentour.
This past summer, Pete Wentz hinted at a potential new album being released as early as 2015. Earlier this week, Wentz took to his Twitter account to reveal that the band has already completed eight songs for their new album. With the announcement of their sixth studio album, Fall Out Boy fans are no doubt excited.
