Phaedra Parks, Apollo Nida Divorce: Who Really Wanted Out of The Marriage First? Latest ‘RHOA’ Episode Reveals He Did

Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida’s marriage has been on the rocks for over a year now. However, most assumed the vast majority of their marital problems stemmed from Nida’s legal woes. However, the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta revealed Phaedra wasn’t the only one who wasn’t pleased with the marriage. According to People, Apollo actually considered divorce long before Phaedra voiced her desire to split from him. He even revealed some of his wife’s less than stellar personality traits that he’s grown to loathe.

“Phaedra is very calculated,” said Nida. “I despise everything about her, but I still love her.”

Several months ago, Nida reportedly met with a divorce attorney to discuss the possibility of splitting from his wife. Apparently, he wanted some advice about divorcing Phaedra before his incarceration.

“I don’t have anything,” Nida admitted to the lawyer. “The government’s taken everything.”

There were also a number of reports released in reference to the couple’s children. Apollo reportedly begged Phaedra to see his children, but to no avail.

“He mainly asks about his two boys,” a source told Hollywood Life.

“He asked Peter Thomas to tell his children that their father loves them and that he can’t wait to be home one day and play football with them. He got a little choked up on the phone and told Peter to make sure he tells his boys that because ‘Phaedra won’t bring them here and she don’t pick up the phone. I miss my children, man. I’ll do anything to see them, anything. I just want to see my sons,'” the source explained.

However, a source close to Phaedra claims Apollo was too busy partying during the time before he reported to prison. The source also revealed Apollo’s main concern had nothing to do with he children. It was reportedly all about the money.

“When he does speak to Phaedra, it’s always about money,” the source said. “He owes a huge debt in restitution and he wants to know if she’s going to help him with it. ‘Are you going to give me money?’ is always his question. He still wants her financial support.”

Following the July sentencing, Apollo’s attorney released a statement on his behalf.

“On behalf of my client Apollo, right now he feels remorse. He thought the judge was fair, and accepts his sentence, although he was hoping it would be less. Apollo is elated that this proceeding is past him and is no longer handing over his head. It meant everything to him that his mother and brother spoke on his behalf. He’s OK, and will get through this.”
