Darren Wilson Marries Girlfriend, Fellow Police Officer, In Midst Of Michael Brown Shooting Investigation
Darren Wilson married his girlfriend in the midst of the Michael Brown shooting investigation, it’s been reported. The Ferguson, Missouri police officer who shot and killed an 18-year-old African-American on August 9, hasn’t had much of his personal life revealed to the public since the incident other than speculations he may resign from the Ferguson police force. Additionally, he’s in talks with television networks regarding the grand jury’s impending verdict.
St Louis Post Dispatch reports that Wilson, 28, married Barbara Spradling, 36, in Overland on October 24. Spradling is also a Ferguson police officer. According to the marriage license, Attorney and municipal Judge Christopher Graville performed the informal ceremony. Sources say Wilson and Spradling went “unnoticed” when they applied for their marriage license at the St. Louis County Courthouse. The attorney for Darren Wilson declined comment on his client’s marriage.
SLP reports that this is Wilson’s second marriage. He divorced Ashley Brown in October 2011. The briefly lived in Troy for a year after buying a house in 2012. It was put up for sale two months after Wilson filed divorce papers. They had separated two months before the divorce, which finalized on November 18, 2013.
Officer Darren Wilson awaits the grand jury’s decision on whether to indict him on charges of murder, manslaughter, or no charges at all. The city is preparing for whatever may incur as a result of the verdict. Riots and protests are anticipated if the verdict is not guilty on any counts.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Officer Wilson is supposedly in talks with CNN’s Anderson Cooper and NBC’s Matt Lauer for his first interview after the verdict is revealed.
Daily Mail writes in an updated report that talks are also with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, CBS’ Scott Pelley, and CNN’s Don Lemon. Cooper and Lemon posted a Twitter message explaining that they met with Wilson and that it was standard procedure to instill a sense of trust and comfort before interviewing a potential guest.
Careful not to look as though he had any association with police “conspiracy,” Cooper let viewers know.
“I’d also like to interview the grand jury. There is no conspiracy here. Reporters want to interview people and sometimes you have to meet them first,” he wrote.
Cooper said that the Ferguson cop decided “not to do an interview with me.”
Who’ll be the one to interview the accused Ferguson police officer? The grand jury has yet to reveal the Michael Brown verdict, but it’s expected anytime.
