Lana Del Rey Had A Love Affair? The Real Reason She Left New York For California
Lana Del Rey, the cover girl for Maxim Magazine’s December/January 2015 issue, revealed the real reason why she left the Big Apple to reside in California.
“I had a love affair with New York. I loved all the history that came with it, the early ’60’s, Bob Dylan, and the Beat poetry era,” she said in the Maxim interview.
“I was kind of looking for this big artist revival, but I never really tapped into anything,” Del Rey continued.
E! Online said on the cover of Maxim, Del Rey looks gorgeous, with heavy eyeliner framing her piercing blue eyes and her brunette hair in curls pushed to one side. But, according to E! Online, it was on the inside of the magazine that Del Rey stripped down and showed some skin.
“…in a steamy bedroom spread, Del Rey flashes a giant smile while wearing only tiny white panties. The dark-haired beauty covers her chest and midsection with a slinky white sheet as she lies on the ground.”
The Daily Mail said Del Rey also spoke about changes in her career path during her interview with Maxim.
“For me, there really wasn’t reinvention. That is more the other people’s reinterpretation. I feel so much continuity between all my music and all the videos.”
Lana Del Rey will continue to make heads spin with her latest photos. Recently, a video featuring Del Rey being raped by Hostel director Eli Roth was released on popular video-sharing site YouTube.
According to Music.Mic the rape scene is painful to watch, but the whole video clip is disturbing.
“The video contains a handful of unsettling clips, from a woman held screaming underwater to a masked figure looming on top of a building with an AK-47.”
The video, which has been removed, was reportedly produced for a Marilyn Manson music video and was released by Sturmgruppe, a group that used to work with Manson.
Even though persons from Manson’s camp have denied that the video was produced for Manson, the Inquisitr reported that Eli Roth apparently spoke of a video of the same nature during a chat with Larry King. Roth said the video was so sick that it had been locked away for years.
According to Music.Mic, Del Rey has made themes of sexual violence and regressive gender dynamics a huge part of her music.
Lana Del Rey, who has not commented on the video, released her album Ultraviolence this year.
