Scott Brown: Fox News Contributor, Again

Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and failed U.S. Senate candidate of New Hampshire, is joining Fox News again.

Per a report in the Boston Herald, Brown is rejoining the network after failing to beat incumbent U.S. Sen. Jean Shaheen in the recent midterm elections. Shaheen was one of few Democrats to come out of the midterms unscathed and still in the Senate at all, with many Democrats from Alaska to North Carolina falling in a wave election that gave control of the Senate to Republicans for the first time during the presidency of Barack Obama.

Brown, who replaced the late Democratic U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy in the Senate following his death from brain cancer, was unseated two years later by now-U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

In the Boston Herald report on Brown’s return to Fox News, the tabloid noted that he would be making an appearance on the Fox News program “Outnumbered,” appearing as the one man outnumbered by four women on the noon eastern show.

Fox sources told the Herald that Brown would continue as a contributor to the cable news network following his appearance on the show.

The Huffington Post notes that Brown first joined Fox News Channel in February, 2013 following his loss to Warren. The contract, HuffPost said, was renewed in February, 2014, but was cut short just a month later after the network determined that he was making moves that signaled he wanted his old job in the Senate back, albeit in a neighboring state.

Brown is not the only Fox News Channel contributor to see their contract cut short when it looked like a political campaign was on the horizon.

The most recent example of such a situation came just recently, with Dr. Ben Carson losing his contract after he made an informational video that aired as a paid program on many channels in recent weeks. The step was widely considered to be a first step in a possible presidential run in two years. Carson has also been pushing book sales and has been busy on the lecture circuit, speaking mostly to conservative groups.
