Pippa Middleton Reportedly Close To Landing ‘Today’ Show Gig, But Kate Middleton Worried About Unwanted Exposure
Pippa Middleton may soon be taking over American television screens, but her big sister Kate is reportedly worried about the attention it could bring for the royal family.
Pippa has been meeting with NBC executives about a possible gig on the Today show. Network executives are reportedly looking at her to anchor some lifestyle segments, and Pippa appears to be putting in the work to build up her credentials. The 31-year-old sister of Kate Middleton recently completed an an advanced wine course at the Grape Experience Wine & Spirit School.
“It is a tough course. It is hard to pass as it requires a lot of study and to get distinction it really means a lot of extra hours. There is a tasting paper of two wines examined blind and then a theory paper that tests the student on everything from vine health to the production of spirits,” Emily O’Hare, who is the head sommelier of the River Cafe in London, said about the course.
But the Today show gig could lead to trouble between Pippa Middleton and the rest of the royal family. Kate and Prince William have reportedly expressed concern about the number of public appearances Pippa is making, worried that her ambitions could lead to unwanted exposure for the family.
The royal couple even reportedly asked Pippa to cut back on her public appearances last year. At the time, Pippa was writing for a number of publications and even working on her own party planning book.
“Kate and William didn’t want her to write her party planning book ‘Celebrate,’ let alone a regular column in various magazines,” a source told the Daily Mail. “They have spoken to her about this.”
Now, as Pippa Middleton prepares to take a gig on the Today show, those fears are being revived. New reports claim that Kate Middleton and Prince William are upset at Pippa for trying a television career, and fear that the network only wants Pippa on air so she share details about the royal family.
