Incredible Weight Loss Video Lands 22-Year-Old Internet Fame
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. And as recently shown by young man from El Cajon, California, sometimes that size and shape can change. Drastically.
John Glaud, a 22-year-old from El Cajon, California, lost 160 pounds over seven months. As reported by Medical Daily, Glaud deals with excessive loose skin as a result of the rapid loss. He has to hide the skin under his waistband amid other measures. But Glaud did not want to hide from his issues. So he posted a video to share his accomplishment as well as the insecurities that accompany it.
Gaud says he made the video to encourage others to chase their dreams.
“I want people watching this video to understand that you should never let loose skin or anything else stop you from going for your dreams. And my dreams are to be very happy in my skin.”
Glaud’s video currently has over six million views, and has garnered him internet stardom. He was even invited to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Friday, November 21.
NBC San Diego reported on Glaud’s visit to the Ellen’s show. Ellen let John know how proud she was of his accomplishment.
“I love this young man. After losing an incredible 160 pounds, our next guest bravely posted a video of himself revealing his biggest insecurity.”
Glaud fought depression after high school. His weight hit a high of 360 pounds before he finally decided to take action. He lost the weight through exercise and healthy eating.
Obesity is an epidemic in the United States. According to the CDC, more than 78 million Americans are obese. Fad diets and weight loss pills can be found basically any time one were to open an internet browser. Yet, when done correctly, weight loss is achievable and beneficial. As reported by the Inquisitr, permanent weight loss brings innumerable health benefits, including lowered blood pressure, reduced risk of heart disease and increased energy levels.
John Glaud and his amazing transformation are further evidence that permanent weight loss is an achievable goal for the millions struggling with weight loss around the country. Furthermore, his video and willingness to publicly share his struggles and serve as inspiration for those around the country dealing with similar issues.
